What is true success with an info business?
Here's the thing...I hear this
all the time...
People asking me for advice on article
marketing, blog marketing, content
marketing, creating products, delivering
coaching, etc....
But those are all distractions, in a sense.
You see, if someone's business isn't making money...
normally fixing one thing...using a new tactic...
isn't going to solve the problem.
You see, if the business model is flawed or isn't
working, more traffic's not going to fix it.
Another product isn't going to fix it.
A common pattern online is that someone is
looking to increase traffic, so they go buy
a training to learn a certain kind of traffic.
They use that for a month, sales don't go
up, they figure that source doesn't work.
So they go buy another training on a different
kind of traffic.
And the next month the same thing.
Or they are getting the traffic they need, but they aren't
building relationships with subscribers and making
sales - so they buy a product to teach them to
do that...same thing, they don't get
the results they need.
So next month, something else...
Of course for each person, it's a little different.
But the problem is this constant search for new
tactics.
Tactics don't make your business.
A complete business model that works across
the board and an understanding of
the psychology that makes internet business
happen makes your business.
One that works for everyone, not just 1% of the
people who try it.
That's the problem with most of the business models
online - they work occasionally.
But you don't want to build an “occasional” business,
do you?
You want to build a solid business that will stand the
test of time, right?
Since you are reading this email...unless you
scroll to the bottom and unsubscribe, I have
prepared a set of emails that will come to
you over time, about 1 every 2-3 days or so...
I will teach you this business model.
Some teachings will be in the email.
For some you will be given a link to go to
the training.
For some there will be an audio.
But I can tell you this...if you take action, read
every email, listen to what I send...in the next
90-180 days you are going to get a deeper
education from me than you have likely gotten
from any training you have ever gotten online from
anyone at any price.

My Model for Making Money Online
I want to be very intentional and clear about
the business of making money online.
Because if my model isn't right for you, or you
are looking for something quick and easy,
then you and I obviously aren't a good fit
to work together, and there's no
sense in you getting my emails and trainings....
Here's the thing...there is a myth going on
out there that you can just buy some
software or 3 click training and you will
make big money next month.
I am sorry to burst your bubble, but
it's not going to happen.
Making money online takes time. It takes
the right model. And it takes hard work.
You have to make the time, and do the
work.
I've put in the time (5 years, 200 hours or
so a month) and the work (written 13 ebooks,
created 5 CD programs, dozens of trainings
and home study courses, and 7 coaching
programs over the years).
Now I'll give you the business model.
It's really quite simple...build a list of
people who have a common interest
and find out what they need help with.
Then give them the help, and charge them
for it.
That's it.
It's the way I did it.
It's the way others do it.
And if you think about it, it's the way almost
every online business works, except they
usually don't build a list because they
have a storefront.
But they all find a common interest and find
out what people need help with.
Steve Jobs made computers for people who
wanted a better computer.
Bill Gates licensed software for companies that
didn't want to write their own.
Mark Zuckerberg created a social site for people
who wanted to get to know each other.
Ted Turner created a TV network for people who
wanted better TV.
Oprah Winfrey created a TV show and a magazine
for people who wanted better content.
The google founders created a search engine
that gave people relevant search results.
Everyone who makes money selling to others
makes it by selling them something that they need.
And if you want to make money online, that's what
you have to do.
Now, likely, you don't know what they need.
That's why you build a list.
Get to know the people on your list.
Ask them what they need.
Give them what they need.
Charge them for it.

Yes, you can create a coaching program - use my simple plan
I believe that anyone can create a coaching
program.
In fact, I think it's easier than creating a
product.
I mean, with a product, you have to sit
down and create it, with no audience.
It's not easy to stay motivated to do that.
But...if you have just one client that
needs your help - call it coaching - or
your help over the telephone - or whatever -
if you have just one client that needs
your help and they agree to pay you...
whatever, $100, $500, $1000, whatever,
to help them, then you just get on
the phone with them and....help them.
Answer their questions.
Give them advice.
Give them a plan.
Teach them to do what you already know.
That is one on one coaching.
It's that easy.
And here's how to juice it up:
Give them a discount for letting you record
helping them.
Sell the recordings as a home study course.
Now you have your first product.

Credibility Marketing Email (model)
Here's the steps, in concise, outline form:
1) choose a profitable niche (I've already taught you how to do that
2) create a squeeze page so you can get
visitors to become subscribers so you can
communicate with them like I am you right now.
3) Drive traffic to the squeeze page (I
taught you the basics of how to do that
about 2 weeks ago - I also have an
advanced article marketing course, and
an advanced google rankings course that
uses highly advanced article marketing and
linking strategies, if you are interested...)
3b) You can use other methods of driving
traffic, you don't HAVE to use article marketing.
Of course, I use article marketing because
it's my personal favorite kind of traffic.
I'll tell you more about that another day.
4) Write a series of emails that really connects
with your subscribers the way these emails I
write to you are drawing you in (you wouldn't
be reading them if they weren't drawing you in,
would you?) (By the way, I also have an advanced course on writing emails
for your autoresponder campaign...more
about that another day)
5) Find out what your subscribers NEED. Do
NOT try to sell something to your subscribers
just because YOU think they need it. Find out
what THEY need. Then create it, buy it, find it,
whatever.
6) Then sell them what they need.
6b) When you are first starting out, you can use
affiliate products because you don't have any
of your own. But you need to create your own
products as fast as possible. Here's why:
your products will convert to your list better
than affiliate products
because your subscribers are on YOUR list
because they want to learn more from YOU -
not from someone you are selling for
because if you have your own products, you
can have you own affiliates selling your
products. You see, the money in affiliate
products in owning them, and having
affiliates.
note: once you have your own products,
if there are a couple of other people's
products you really like and can really
help your clients...then by all means sell them.
But the point of all this is...don't build
your business just on affiliate products.
Create your own products (I can also teach
you how to do that, more on that later)
That is your model for information marketing
success.
Read it again.
That is the model. Anything you do that doesn't
fall into that model...is probably a waste of time.
here's a summary:
niche
squeeze page (to get subscribers)
traffic (to get people to squeeze page to
become subscribers)
emails (relationship with subscribers)
communication (find out what they need)
sell them what they need
THAT is how you make money in information
marketing.
Now, there are variables:
you can use different kinds of traffic
you can sell different kinds of products
But that's it.
Any more deviation from the model...and your
profit goes down.

in a future email I will show you the economics of a $20k per month business...and a $100k per

Yesterday we talked about the
information marketing business model.
I told you that today I would show you
the economics of a $5k per month
business, a $20k per month business,
and a $100k per month business.
Are you ready?
Ok, here goes.
Now, I am going to give you a sample
of what the product and price distribution
would be. Obviously you can change
that distribution, as long as the numbers
add up (and the price and product progression
makes sense)
So here's a typical $5k per month business:
30 sales @ $100 = $3000
10 sales at $200 = $2000
Generally, if you have a decent product, a decent
sales page, and a decent email campaign, you can
do those 30 sales at $100 on about 300 subscribers
per month.
It takes about 100 well written, optimized,
well-linked articles per month to get 300 subscribers.
That means 5 articles a day - less than 2 hours
per day on writing articles.
And you only need one product at $97 to do that.
If you follow my product creation guidelines, you
can create a $97 product in about 20 hours.
So 20 days = 1 product.
And your second product - $197 (which about
1/3 of your first level buyers should buy if it is a
decent product, they need it - and your first
product was good [if they didn't like product
1, they won't buy your second :-) ]) - that will take about 40 hours to create.
That is 2 hours per day for 20 days.
Add it up - 2 hours for article writing
2 hours for product 2
2 hours for product 1
In one month - 5 hours a day, 5 days a week - 25 hours
per week.
$5k per month.
Would it be ok with you to earn $5k per month in 25 hours a week, to start?
If so...do what I gave you in this email.

What do you say I give you the economics
of a $20k per month business?
Remember I gave you the economics
of a $5k business a few days ago? If not
stop right now, and go find that email in your inbox and read it....
Ok, here's the model for the economics of
a $20k per month business:
(First, let me say this...there are 2 other
models for this that I will share first, I don't
really teach these....but you can do them,
and they work, although not as
efficiently as my model, so I want you
to at least know they are available)
here is model one: To get to $5k per month,
I showed you a model with 300 subscribers
per month and 2 products, right?
So one way to get to $20k per month
would be to just scale your traffic...get
4 times the traffic, keep selling the same
2 products - get to $20k per month.
And that is a fine model.
The reason I don't teach it is because there
is (in my opinion) an easier way to get there
(the way I do it).
The other model that I don't suggest (but
exists) is to create multiple $5k per month
businesses. So instead of one niche..you
have 4, each making $5k per month.
Fine model.
But...I don't like it for this reason:
if you are in 4 niches, you have to be an
expert 4 times over.
and in reality, if you are an expert in 4 areas,
you probably aren't as much of an expert
in any one area than if you put 4 times the
effort into just one niche to become
the very best.
Wouldn't you rather learn from someone
who is the "best of the best" instead of
"just an expert"?
And if you would...wouldn't your clients?
And wouldn't it be easier to sell yourself,
sell your products...if you were the "best
of the best" instead of "just another expert"?
I think so.
So now for my model
Now, if you don't remember the model
for the $5k business, PLEASE
go back and read that email again.
Because in that email I show
you the one month plan to
get to $5k per month.
To get to $20k, it won't happen
in one month.
There will be several months to get there.
But I am going to show you what
a month looks like...several months
in, once you are at $20k, not
the progressive months as you get to $20k
per month.
Make sense?
The key would be to start with the $5k model,
then roll up to this one over several months
(If you wanted me to create a personal
plan for you on what each of those months
would look like, I could probably do
that for you...drop me a line, we'll talk about
what you need and I'll give you a price to do
it for you)
So remember the $5k per month business:
30 sales @ $100 = $3000
10 sales at $200 = $2000
Now here is the $20k per month business:
45 sales of product 1 @ $100 == $4500
30 sales of product 2 @ $100 == $3000
20 sales of product 3 @ $100 == $2000
30 sales of upsell product 1 @ $200 ==
$6000.
Now, that is $15,500 per month so far, with
4 products.
Now, the reason I said it would take
more than a month is...it will probably
take you a few months to get all the products
created.
Now...what about the final $4500?
You can create a couple extra products
to get to it if you want to...but what I have
found is that when you are selling 125 sales
at the $100 - $200 level, about 20 people
per month will become interested in coaching.
So...to get to $20k from $15.5k, you need
$4500 from about 20 clients...let's
even call it only 15 clients..that would be $300.
That is actually a little low - but it
gets you to the $20k I promised.
But in real life I would probably go with
a higher price...like $500 or $1000
for a few months of coaching...with
upsell opportunities from there...which
would put you well over $20k per month.
Of course, that also gives you some freedom
if one product doesn't sell as well as
predicted, and with those coaching prices, it
would be ok if instead of taking on 15 new
clients each month you only took on 10...
you would be able to give them more
attention, and not have as much
coaching work yourself...
Anyhow, as you can see, there is some
flexibility in this model, if you have higher
or lower priced items, then it changes
how many sales you need to get, etc.
But that's about how I do it (actually,
my real life model is closer to the $100k
model, which includes LESS coaching
[when you are running a BIGGER business
you have LESS time for personal coaching])

How Did You Like the $20k Model?

Ok, yesterday I gave you my $20k per
month model for doing business.
How did you like it?
Could you see yourself duplicating what's in that
model so you can make $20k per month as well?
( By the way, the $5k model I gave you
and that $20k model are almost exactly
the same model I used when I was first
starting, and at those numbers).
There are a few changes - but they are
all changes that I made based on experience,
and the adjusted model that
I shared with you is much easier than the way I
did it)
(The biggest difference is that when I hit $5k,
I already had several products, but
at lower prices, so my $5k model in real
life looked more like the $20k model [including
the coaching element] except that it only made
me about $5k per month).
Then as I got to $10k per month and $15k
per month, and as I surpassed that, my
model began to look almost EXACTLY like
what I shared with you about the $20k model.
Now - you might ask...why not
go with exactly what YOU did
at $5k?
And here's why...because it's ALOT more
work than the model I shared with you....and the model
I shared with you is the model I would use today
if I started a new business....and its the exact
same model I use currently if I create a new product,
a new list, a new niche anything...and it works like
a charm as is much easier!

Ok, so far I have shared with you my $5k
per month business model, and my $20k
per month business model, and I have shared
with you some reflections on both and my
own progression through the models.
And today I though I would share with you my
$100k per month business model.
Would you like that?
Ok, then let's do it.
Now, before I do...remember you could
always just straight scale from the $20k model
with more traffic or more niches, products, etc.
But I like to do things efficiently, as you know, so
I have developed this model because it's EASIER
than just scaling (still more work than $20k
per month, but if you are making $100k per month,
you could hire a few people to help you to do the
grunt work, the busy work, and anything else
you don't want to do, right?)
Ready?
Get set...
Here it is:
$100k per month business model:
400 sales of products 1-10 (multiple products here) @ $100 == $40,000
175 sales of upsell products 1-5 @ $200 == $35,000
50 sales of 2nd upsell product 1 @ $500 == $25,000
Total: $100,000 per month
OR:
400 sales of products 1-10 (multiple products here) @ $100 == $40,000
175 sales of upsell products 1-5 @ $200 == $35,000
125 monthly clients at $200 per month == $20,000
Total: $100,000 per month
OR:
300 sales of products 1-10 (multiple products here) @ $100 == $30,000
100 sales of upsell products 1-5 @ $500 == $50,000
125 monthly clients at $200 per month == $20,000
Total: $100,000 per month
OR:
450 sales of products 1-10 (multiple products here) @ $100 == $45,000
50 sales of upsell products 1-5 @ $500 == $25,000
10 sales of 2nd upsell product at $2000 == $20,000
10 monthly clients at $1000 per month == $10,000
Total: $100,000 per month
Now, two things:
1) As you can see, at this level, there is lots of room
to mix and match here.
Sell more at $500, sell less coaching.
Sell more coaching at lower prices.
Sell fewer clients at higher prices for coaching.
It really depends on how you want to work.
If you have lots of lower ticket coaching clients, you
either have to do more cookie-cutter coaching, or
hire someone to do the coaching (in that case, need
to do more than $100k, to pay coaches)
But if you want to coach yourself...you probably can't take on more than 10 - 15 clients at a time, even
if you outsource everything else.
2) This does require quite a few products. But keep in mind, you aren't going to $100k the first month....so
you have time to create products. And just be sure
to create products that are "evergreen" meaning
you can sell them for several years and they don't get
"old". That way you are re-creating your business every few months - you can simply add products
to your stable, and get more front end buyers that way.

Ok, let's do it. This will go deep. You will get more insight into my own "behind the scenes" work than ever before. But it won't all make sense as we go through it. You may not agree with all of it. But it is what works for me. And I don't do anything magical, or hidden, or blackhat, or illegal, or unethical, or utilizing some covert method that no one else knows about. But I do some things very well.聽 Only those things that are necessary for the implementation of profits. Those things are:聽 traffic, subscribers (list building), creating relationship with subscribers, and selling to those subscribers. One of the differences between you and me: In my first 30 days in this business I personally wrote about 150 articles.聽 Each month thereafter for 9 more months I wrote about 150 articles per month (you can go to my ezinearticles expert author page to confirm, go to August of 2006 to start). Then I used a squeeze page that converted consistently at 40%.聽 I still use the exact same squeeze page formula as I did then (it only converts at about 37% right now) Then I wrote a personal email ( a broadcast) to my subscribers nearly every day, communicating with them. Asking questions, answering theirs. And each month starting in the 3rd month, I created a new product.聽 For 13 months straight. Now, was that alot of work? yes.聽 40-60 hours per week. Was it worth it? You tell me. By the end of the 13th month, I had generated income of $15,347 that month (each month prior did about $1000 less per month) So...first question...what is different about the way you are operating your business than the way I operated mine my first year online? You've probably heard that "the money is in the list". But the truth of the matter, just building a big list doesn't make sales happen - you have to cultivate and nurture a relationship with that list. Not just the list - but the people on that list.

Prioritizing Your Day

And I've gotten a few questions along the lines of "there is just so much to do, how do I get it all done?" And that is really the point of the email yesterday - you just don't do everything. You see, there are only so many hours in the day - or in the time you have set aside to build your business. So you can't do everything. If you do...you only finish the stuff that's not really important. For example, what's more important - to read every email in your inbox so you know what's current in the marketing world today? Or....add 2 hours to your product? What's more important - respond to every text that you get when it comes in - or to write your email campaign? You see, the goal isn't to get everything done - it's to get the important things done. What I do is spend the first 2-3 hours of my day on something important. Like writing my new book. Or recording a new training. Or writing a new series of emails. It's so easy to just over-simplify this process and leave something out.
So to clarify - you focus on what you want to get done, not on "avoiding your interruptions". Meaning that instead of thinking "OK, don't answer the phone, don't read email, don't, don't, don't" instead turn the phone off, close your email window, tell your wife or husband you are going to work for 2 hours and do nothing but the one thing you want to accomplish.
Imagine if each day you only worked 2 hours solid, without interruption.
In one week you would have your 10 hour home study course recorded.
The next week you would have 25 emails in your autoresponder campaign.
The next week you would have recorded 10 hours of your coaching program.
The next week you would write 25 articles and post them.
In one month you would have a 10 hour home study course to sell, a 10 week coaching program, 25 emails and 25 articles.
What could you do in a year working like this?

How Important is it to You?

How bad do you really want it?
Here's the thing - each day has a finite number of minutes. And how you spend each one determines if or if not you achieve your goal.
Think about that.
If you focus for 1/2 your time on things that are not in line with your goal....it will take you twice as long to achieve your goal.
But it's worse than that.
Because goals feed on momentum.
Meaning that the faster you gain traction for achieving your goal, the faster you achieve your goal, and the better the chance that actually do achieve it.
I often hear people say things like “I really want to achieve (whatever, income, a fitness goal, whatever)” but there are things I can't control that get in the way. They are things like emails, texts, phone ringing, wife needs something, husband needs something, kids need something, kids have no boundaries so they scream incessantly if they don't get their way...and on and on.
But here's what I think:
If your goal is more important than those interruptions, then you would do anything to avoid those interruptions.
You see, what you spend your time on is what is important to you.
If you are continuing to allow the ding of a new email or text coming in to stand in the way of your success, what you are really doing is making responding to emails more important than your goal.
Which is actually ok. Because it's your life.
And at the end of your life, if you would rather say “I answered 29,487,890 emails within 2 minutes each” than “I wrote 3 books, coached 387 people to success, and empowered thousands to greater peace through my trainings” then that's your choice.
Hey, I GET that if you are an emergency responder that you have to answer your texts when on call. But you probably aren't. And if you are, you have off time.
And I GET when you say, well I have to spend time with my kids, with my wife or husband. I GET that. But wouldn't it be better to spend 2 quality hours with them where your head is in the game, than to spend 8 hours telling them to go away because they are interrupting you? Wouldn't it better to find ways to develop boundaries with your children or spouse and end up spending MORE quality time and less “interruption time”?
Look, I know you might be angry with me right now.
Because you might be thinking, “Sean, you just don't know my situation”. And you are right, I don't. But I do know this...success is your choice. And if whatever you are currently spending time on is more important than success...keep doing it.
But if you really want success, and it's really important to you - wouldn't it pay to figure out how to deal with all the things that hold you back from success?
Here's the thing...that's what I've done in my life.
One challenge at a time.
I learned how to make a fulltime income online writing ebooks, one book a month.
Then I learned how to make a fulltime income online coaching clients.
I've struggled with answering each email as soon as it comes in.
Because I really want to.
But when I consider the cost...answering every email that comes in is holding me back from being able to reach literally millions of people and help them achieve their goals.
Because the distraction of answering every email when it comes in keeps me from scaling operations to generate hundreds of thousands of subscribers instead of hundreds.
The distraction of answering every email that comes in keeps me from starting new businesses, new websites, writing new emails, writing new books, creating new trainings.

Or do you want to come to the end of your life and say “I changed lives, I spent quality time with my children and taught them to respect my time, I spent quality time with my wife and husband, and we had a great life together because of the deep respect we have for each other, I had the financial success that enabled me to provide better for my family, and it allowed me to help others less fortunate?”
Look, I know this has been...long and winded.
But I don't know any other way to fully expose to you my deep thought on this issue.
You see, it's about more than just “time management” or “writing a to-do list” or “eliminating distractions” it's about choosing what you succeed it, and simply achieving your dreams - YOUR dreams, not the consequences of your decision to just keep allowing the that detract and distract to continue to run your life.
Do you want to be in control of your life and accomplish your dreams?
Or do you want to allow other things, and other people, to rule you and accept their domination by...just letting them rule you?
Or do you want to take to task the challenge...how important is it to you?
How important is your dream?
And are you man or woman enough to make the hard choices - and follow through - to accomplish that dream?

How to deal with your husband or wife who is not supportive of your work online
First of all, congratulations for choosing to make the decision to learn more about controlling your time! I believe that as you begin to implement my techniques, you will be amazed at how much faster you can accomplish your goals and how much easier your life becomes!
Let's get started with the first question:
How do I deal with the fact that my wife or husband is totally not supportive of my time online? (I have a unique way of dealing with this, that gets them onboard with you and supporting you, instead of continuing to fight you)
Let's get started:
First, let's look at the psychology behind this, then I'll give you the solution.
Psychology:
Put yourself in your spouse's shoe for a moment and ask yourself if maybe they have even a shadow of a good reason for thinking you spend too much time online.
Have you been spending the last 3 years online, 3-4 hours a day, telling your wife or husband the whole time that you just need “one more month” that you just need to spend “one more thousand dollars” and “next month our life will change”?
Look, I know that may not be your exact situation...but just fill in the blanks so it matches you and your situation.
The thing is, most of the time, your spouse is justified in feeling like you spend too much time online. They might even see it as an addiction, they see the money you spend and think about the things they wish they could buy with that money, they see that you are totally “into” the internet...but not “into” them.
You can see why they might be opposing the time you spend online, right?
So what if you were to tally up the time you spend with your computer right now, and tally up the time you spend with your wife or husband, and add it all together. Then what if you were to balance it out, so you spend half online, and half with them?
For example, maybe right now you spend 4 hours a day online, and you spend 1 hour with your wife or husband.
Add that together, and you have 5 hours. So now you go to your wife or husband and say something in the spirit of this:
“John, I've been thinking. It seems like I've been spending a lot of time on the computer lately, and even when I spend time with you, my mind is distracted.
I've been working with a new coach online, who, believe it or not, wants me to spend less time online, and focus on a few specific things to help me achieve my goals, instead of spending as much time as I am, but without focus.
So here is what I propose:
I know that when you and I spend time together, my mind is distracted, because you know how much I want this “internet thing” to succeed, because it would mean you wouldn't have to work as much, and we could travel more.
But I want to try something.
I want to spend less time on the computer, but when I am on the computer I will be ultra focused on some very specific actions, my coach has told me to turn email, texting, and search engines off while I am online, and go to a room where there are no distractions, and put in a solid 2 hours of work,
And with the time I am no longer on the computer, I want us to spend more time together. And I am going to make every effort...and you can help me with this... to keep my mind from wandering when we are together.
Somehow I think this might be a little work, and a bit of an adjustment for both of us...but if we get to spend more time together, and maybe finally make something happen online, this would be good for both of us, don't you think?

Ok, obviously it has to be your words, not mine.
And I also know that it won't be an easy transition.
It hasn't been easy in my own life making this happen.
But my wife is totally supportive.
She realizes that this is our income. If I don't get the un-interrupted time, I would simply have to go back to the corporate world.
And then we couldn't travel like we do, and I would work more than I do now, and I would be much more tired when I get off work.
Over time, she has seen that it is to her benefit to just let me work - and she knows that when I get off work in the evening, or in the early afternoon - that I am not going to be checking email (I don't have email on my phone, and I don't generally open the computer after 5)
It is good for her.
And it will be good for your wife or husband.
But understand, they aren't coming to this with the same clarity you have now.
They are frustrated with the time you spend online now. They feel like you are wasting your time online. They feel neglected when you are online, and angry when you answer emails when you do spend time with them.
The conversation I just gave you is one that will initiate the process...but if you don't follow through by being more productive online...it won't work.
If you don't follow through by NOT answering emails when you are spending time with them... it won't work.
You have to earn their trust again on this issue.
You can do it.

How to Deal With Children
Do you ever think, “How do I deal with my children, who insist on getting my attention when I am working?” Ok, I'll admit, I didn't really want to do this topic. But if I didn't this training would really be incomplete. Because I think children are about the 3rd biggest distraction to building your business (incessant emails and spouses are the top 2).
And I also know that in this email I am going to offend people. Maybe you.
You see, in the prior emails, it's been about you, or in the email about your spouse, it was a clear cut solution.
And I didn't have to call your problem (ok here it comes) with your spouse not letting you work in peace for what it really is...a boundary issue in your life and theirs.
Because I just gave you a solution that works.
But the reason that it works is that it re-establishes boundaries in your relationship with your husband or your wife. By choosing to spend less, but more efficient, time online, and more, more focused time with them.
And it is the same with children.
You see, children need boundaries.
They need to know what is ok and what is not. Of course a problem occurs when nothing is OK.
Just like with your husband or your wife, if you spend ALL your time online, then they feel jilted, jealous, like you don't care about them, so on.
So they nag and bug you incessantly, stopping only when you stop working online to give them attention.
And the bugging works. You stop, they get attention.
So how do you change this?
Ok, let me say this first...I'm no child psychologist. But there are plenty of great parenting books out there that deal with the boundaries issue...and if you are struggling with this, you need more than an email from me. I suggest you go to amazon and spend $100 on some books on the topic. You won't agree with everything you read, but after reading 5 - 10 books on the topic of boundaries and children, you will find yourself much more empowered to create boundaries and get excellent results from them.
But...having said that...I know I can't leave you hanging with no solution. But please understand this isn't going to be as clear but as the spouse solution I gave in the last email.
The idea here is going to be similar as with your spouse.
If your children are old enough to listen to reason, you will use the same technique as with your spouse, it goes something like this: “Johnny, mommy has been spending a lot of time on the computer lately, and not enough time with you, right? “But I'd like to change that. So instead of working for hours and hours at a time, we're going to alternate. You and I can do anything you want for an hour, then I'll work for an hour and you'll do whatever you want by yourself. Then I'll spend an hour with you, and so on.
“Would you like that?
“Ok, great...the only thing is, for this to work, mommy's not going to answer her phone every time it rings when we are playing, you like that? And in exchange, when I'm working for the hour, you aren't going to interrupt me. That's a fair exchange, right?”
Here's the thing...depending on the age of your child (and how out of control your boundaries are) this will work.
Of course, it may need to be repeated and reinforced, and your normal methods of behavior modification might have to be invoked some initially, and of course you MUST hold up your end of the bargain. If you agree not to answer your phone when playing, you CANNOT. If you do, you destroy all trust. And then this won't work.
And might I repeat...if all this is new to you...buy a few books TODAY on amazon.
Now, if your child is younger than able to understand what I've just shared, then I suggest you get a few books on parenting with boundaries, and learn the techniques. Although you should be getting a feel for how “boundaries” work in life, with your spouse, your children, and others, the complete concept and philosophy of boundaries is too much for a few emails from me...and I truly suggest you invest in a few books on the topic...just go to amazon and search for “boundaries and parenting” and invest $100...it will be well worth it when your entire life becomes more “under control” as you implement boundaries throughout your life.
In fact, as I write this, I realize that having firm boundaries in my life is one reason I am able to be so focused in my entire business.
Having boundaries allows me to work effectively amidst family pressures, people constantly sending me emails, the phone ringing, and so on.
And I believe that when you master boundaries in your life...your internet business will come together much easier.
So just do it...buy the books, learn and master the boundaries concept in your life...and succeed!

How to Deal With Everyday Distractions That Are Killing Your Productivity
In this email, I am going to show you my personal method of dealing with distractions that kill productivity, things like email, text, telephones, voice mail, instant messenger, and the plain old lure of the internet.
As you know, I'm writing this email in a series of emails to which you have subscribed, so I'm not going to repeat all the concepts I've taught in the last 3. They are relevant to this issue, and to the background of it, and if you haven't read those emails, I suggest you go find them and read them...
Ok, on to email, text, telephones, voice mail, instant messenger, and lure of the internet.
First, I am going to share my background premise for dealing with all of these things, including all other distractions, even ones I've not mentioned.
Then I will tell you how I deal with each of these distractions, one by one.
Background:
The real question is not, “how do I deal with these distractions?”
But instead, “what is really important to me?”
You see, I don't believe distractions are any different than anything else we might choose to spend our time on. Except that because they occur at a time of their choosing, not ours, we call them distractions. You see, in and of themselves, they may not be wrong. But when they occur on their timing, not yours, that's when the problem occurs.
You see, emails not bad in and of itself. It becomes bad when it rules your life.
Instant messenger is not bad in and of itself. It becomes bad when it rules your life.
To relate to something non-internet related - food is not bad in and of itself. It becomes bad when it rules your life, shortens your life, and takes your energy away.
Sex is not bad in and of itself. It becomes bad when it rules your life or is used outside of acceptable boundaries.
Playing video games is not bad in and of itself. It becomes bad when your grown son plays video games downstairs all day instead of getting a job.
Are you beginning to see that it's not the distractions themselves... it's their uncontrolled behavior that is the problem.
So, how do we fix it?
I think that first of all, we don't start by saying “Ok, no more email, no more food, no more instant messaging, no more sex.”
I think instead we start with: “what do I really want?”
You see, once you create the framework for what you really want, then you can assign a priority to the “distractions”.
For example, let's imagine that for food....instead of saying “Ok, I have to eat less bad food”, instead you start with the premise of what you want. You want to weigh 30 pounds less than you do. Notice I don't frame this as “lose 30 pounds”.
Instead I frame it as “weigh 30 pounds less”.
The difference is that to “lose 30 pounds” you have to focus on “eating less”
But if you focus on “weighing 30 pounds less” (and frame it as “I want to weight....175, for example (men, please :-) )”
Then instead of focusing on “eating less”, you focus on “eating exactly what is appropriate to weigh...175”
And when you do that, over time, your weight will approach your goal.
Sure, you will eat less...but your focus will be on what you DO eat, not on what you DON'T eat.
Do you see the difference here?
Now, let's apply this to your business.
Instead of focusing on “not answering email” or “not answering the phone” - focus on the goal.
What is your goal?
Let's set a 90 day imaginary goal here of creating 3 home study courses and a coaching program in the next 90 days.
Let's assume you have 4 hours to work per day. If you have more time. your imaginary goal should be stiffer. If you have less time, your imaginary goal should be less. But for this example...4 hours.
That is 4 hours times 20 days a month = 80 hours.
Times 3 months = 240 hours.
Now how do you use the time to achieve your goal?
(Notice we are talking about filling your time with what you want to accomplish, not on getting rid of what you DON'T want to accomplish).
Let's do it...3 products of 10 hours each. That is 30 hours of recording. Plus about 10 hours of research and preparation. 10 hours to write each sales letter. 10 hours to write 3 promotional emails per product.
This is 80 hours to create the 3 home study courses.
Next - coaching program. Let's say you create 10 lessons in advance (I don't recommend this method, but if you have the time and you want to create the lessons first....).
Each lesson takes 2 hours to prepare. That is 20 hours. Then 10 hours to write the sales letter. Then 10 hours to write the promotional email campaign.
That is 40 hours.
All together we are up to 120 hours.
That is 2 hours per day for 3 months or 5 day weeks.
We could stop now and this could accomodate those people who only have 2 hours.
But we won't. Let's assume you have 2 hours left per day in this schedule.
What if you were to write 4 articles per day, and repurpose each article as a content email in your email campaign?
After 60 days of work, you would have 240 articles online, and 240 emails in your email campaign (plus the 4 promotional email campaigns you created in your product creation time).
So let me ask you this....would it be worth it to you to just work on your product campaigns as described for 2 hours per day and write articles for 2 hours per day in order to have 3 home study courses, 1 coaching program, and 240+ emails in your email campaign?
Would it be worth it?
Compare it to the last 90 days of your life.
Did you accomplish as much?
Sure, you answered lots of emails.
You read lots of emails. You replied to lots of texts. And you answered the phone while working, surfed the web for new ways to make money online, looked for new traffic sources, etc.
But the truth of the matter is that you didn't achieve your goals.
And the question is...was it worth it?
Was it worth it to answer all those emails, answer the phone, instant message, etc.?
Was it worth it?
So let's go to another extreme...would it be worth it if you didn't read a single email for 90 days, didn't open skype for 90 days, didn't answer the phone while working for 90 days?
And instead, you created 3 home study courses, a coaching program, 240 articles and 240 emails?
Would it be worth it?
Here's the thing...once you decide that it would be worth it NOT to do all the things that keep you distracted... it becomes much easier to put them into perspective.
You see, once you've determined that you could live without them for 90 days, and have a better result, then it becomes easier to relegate them to something reasonable - like 20 minutes a day for answering emails, and not answering texts and the phone while working.
Now, 2 common objections I get to this...and I'm going to destroy them viciously now:
I have to answer all the emails my subscribers send me or they won't buy from me. Ok, if you are doing less than $5000 a month, then it should only take 10 minutes to answer ALL your subscribers questions each day, if you do it in one sitting, and only reply to each person once per day. And if you are doing more than $5000 a month, then it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes a day - if you do it in one sitting. And at some point - maybe $10k a month - you make a choice - outsource if for $500 a month - have someone else answer - or stop offering email access as part of your programs and stop answering basic questions like “if I buy your program will it do (x) for me?” If you look closely at your sales numbers, only about 5% of your sales are likely coming from the people who ask questions, but if you are spending 2 hours a day answering those emails, then you are spending 25% of your time (of an 8 hour day) on 5% of your revenue. Wouldn't you be better off doing something else that would increase sales probably much more than 5% during those 2 hours a day, and just allow that 5% loss of sales to occur? Your total revenue would go up if that time was better allocated.
I have to read all the emails other marketers are sending me so that I stay abreast of all the new things in the marketplace and new ways to drive traffic. Ok, here's the question...how has that strategy been working for you? You see, if that's what you have been doing, but you aren't making the money you want, then it would make sense to me that the strategy of reading everyone else's emails and learning their strategies by reading their emails...isn't working for you. Here's the thing...you need to build a solid foundation before you start trying out new sources of traffic. Because every new source of traffic is really just a permutation on an old foundational source of traffic. And if you can't make money with the old foundational source of traffic...then you have no business trying out a new source of traffic. In all likelihood, and you know this if you've been trying different sources of new traffic, the new traffic isn't going to perform any better than the old traffic. Because in all likelihood, you aren't going to do any better job of driving this new source of traffic than you were with the foundational source. Let me share something with you.... I still use the same traffic sources I have used for the last 5 years, and my business plan for the next 5 years calls not for adding tons of new sources of traffic, but instead scaling up by hiring more outsourcers, the exact same traffic sources I currently use. Sure, I tweak them from time to time, make changes the create operational increases in efficiencies...but I continue to used the tried and true traffic that's been around for a long time, and will likely be here 5, 10, 20 years from now. Instead of trying a new source each week, hoping to figure something new out that's not evergreen, and in 6 - 12 months, when that traffic source no longer produces, I have to start all over again. Suffice this to say...I have built my business for the long term, building with traffic that is long term, not a short-term fad. Having said all of that....I don't believe there is any good reason to read emails for an hour a day to find out what your competitors are doing. If you want to know, set aside an hour a month for “competitor research”. But you don't need to do it everyday.
Maybe at this point you are thinking... “ok, I give in.
“I want to learn to run a business the way you do.
“This makes a lot of sense to me. I am ready to not only take charge of my time...but also to build a real business the way you have described the last few emails.”

By now, you probably know the answer:
I am so consumed with achieving my goal...just like a runner who is so consumed with winning Olympic gold that if a stray dog were to run next to them and bark at them to stop and play, then would ignore the dog, and continue running to achieve their goal of winning Olympic Gold.
That's how I do it. I know exactly what I want.
And I work each day on those things that will get me closer, and block out those things that will not.
For example: email: answer email 2 times per day 12 noon, and 4 PM. JUST DON'T OPEN YOUR EMAIL BROWSER
It's just like food....don't want to munch on M&M's during the day...you don't open the bag. Better yet, you don't buy the bag in the first place. You have to control your environment, instead of your environment controlling you.
text: leave the phone in a different room when working
phone: ditto
voice mail: ditto
instant messenger: don't use it. Some people think it's a time saver. It's not. I tried it for a few months. Everytime I used it is was a waste of my time. Just about everything could have been done with 3 emails. 12 noon today, 4 PM today, 12 noon tomorrow. Oh, you say, that means your subscriber or client or outsourced worker has to wait 24 hours to get their problem solved. Look, who's time is it anyway? Theirs...or mine?
Lure of the internet: willpower - turn it off if you can't resist.
Look, by now you are really seeing how I am able to be so productive. I am ruthless with my time. It's my time. Not anyone else's. So it is my choice to be in control of my time. And if let 100 people who have questions that can wait 4 hours, if I let texts that can wait 4 hours, if I let telephone calls that can wait 4 hours to control me....then that is shame on me.
And same thing with you.
It is your responsibility to control your actions during the day.
If you do, and you set goals, action plans, then do the actions, and strategically ignore the distractions... you can be successful. If you are willing to make the hard choices, to simply eliminate or control what is controlling you...you are choosing to NOT be successful.
It's your choice.
How do I take control of my day, and get my goals accomplished once and for all?
I really think that was answered, at least in undertones, in the last training.
But for clarity...I'll spend a few minutes on it.
(By the way, if you have missed yesterday's training...go back and read it. Because you will miss the point of today's lesson without the background).
I start with my year goals. I then make monthly goals based on my yearly goals (what do I have to do each month to fulfill my yearly goals). Then I create weekly goals based on those monthly goals (same principle). Then I create daily goals based on those weekly goals.
So each day I know before I start the day what I need to do that day to accomplish my yearly goals.
And I simply do that thing first. Once that's done, I answer emails, help clients, start on tomorrow's work, go to lunch, quit for the day, go skiing, whatever.
But before I do anything else, my goals for the day are accomplished.
That's all.
I know this sounds really simple.
It is.
Try it.

One goal at a time

Here's the thing. If you focus on 4 big goals at one time, the odds that you will achieve any one of them go way down.
Because you are distracted. It is not easy to focus on multiple goals at the same time.
It's much easier to achieve one goal than to try to achieve 3 or 4 at one time.
Maybe that's the first secret of goal accomplishment :-)
Focus on one big goal at a time. Finish it.
Then start another.
On down the road, once you become good at “finishing” - then you can add another goal.
Work on 2 goals at a time.
If that goes well...consider adding another.
If it does not go well, go back to one goal at a time.
Which would you rather do:
Focus on one goal at a time, for 90 days each, and in 365 days accomplish 4 goals.
Or try to do all 4 at one time, and find after 365 days that you have not achieved any of your goals?
How Do I Handle Temptation?

Here's the thing...I am tempted each day to answer emails outside of my dedicated email sessions.
I am tempted each day to turn on skype because someone wants to talk NOW instead of writing a few emails back and forth on my time, not theirs.
I am tempted each day to surf the internet aimlessly.
How do I handle this temptation?
First, remember that I have a set of yearly goals to which I am aspiring, and I know that if I don't take the necessary daily actions, I will fail.
But it's still not easy...so how do I do it?
In a word, it's WILLPOWER.
That's right - willpower!

Day 36: Why You Need to Have an Autoresponder Series....

Do you really need a autoresponder automated campaign for your list?
Consider this:
If you don't have a followup autoresponder campaign that sends out a predictable email on a predictable day after someone comes onto your list, then what happens is this:
A new subscriber comes on to your list.
They will get whatever emails you send to your list over the next 90 days or so.
They may or may not respond, based on the order of your emails and the bond you create.
But you won't know why.
Because you won't be able to say, ok, email 8 kills sales, email 12 should go earlier, and so on.
But contrast this:
If you have a pre-planned 90 day campaign where each person gets the same email after the same number of days on your campaign, you can easily study who responds based on how many days in your campaign and make adjustments to this process.
PLUS - if you don't have an automated pre-planned campaign, if you don't send an email today, they don't get an email.
That means if you take a month off...sales die.
If you get sick and take a month off...sales die.
But if you put all your emails in your autoresponder... sales can continue for as long as your campaign is (mine is based on a 3 - year model).

You see, in my experience, most people don't buy the first 10 days on your campaign anyway.
But if you spend your time the first 10 days "selling" then you will push people away who need to build trust with you first.
You see, people buy based on trust online, not based on you sending them a sales letter everyday.
You can't force people to buy from you.
Instead, send them content emails (like this one) and teach them something new each day.
Some people will be content with just getting free information.
And the ones who want to really dig deep and buy your products, they will respond through a gentle recommendation at the end of the email.
But just remember for each email you write, your focus should be on delivering content, not forcing sales.
The sales will come whne you build the relationship :-)

How to Create Your First Product:
Step 1:
Write a 100 topic outline.
Here's how:
Take your niche and divide it into 10 categories. (If you are struggling with which categories are in your niche, go to ezinearticles.com and google your niche, the answers will be there if you look)
Then for each category, write down 10 sub-categories.
Here is an example:
Dog Training Niche
Categories:
Puppies
Adult Dogs
Abused Dogs
Etc.
Subcategories for puppies:
potty training
come
sit
stay
etc.
Do this until you have 10 categories and 10 sub categories for each.
This will give you 100 topics.
Then write one page about each topic. Or record 6 minutes per topic.
Either method will give you a created product in a few days.
Ebook: write 100 pages (20 per day, 5 days to create product)
MP3 series: record 3 hours per day, 5 days to create product)
By the way, maybe right now you are thinking, that
sounds like a lot of work, I have other things to do in my business
each day.
I must ask you this...how much money is each of those “important”
things you are doing in your business, making you each month?
Would you be making more money if you committed 3 hours
per day to product creation and in a few months had
multiple products to sell?
My guess is that you would, and if you are honest with yourself,
you would agree that you would be making more money if you
were to simply take the time to create your products, instead
of all the other things you are doing each day that
are not producing income.
Have you ever thought about creating your own product?
My guess is that you have.
In fact, possibly you have tried creating your own product
already, and found that it took you far too long
to do it, and you have possibly decided to just
promote other people's products instead.
The thing is, you will make far more money
online if you are selling your own products.
And I have proven time and time again that
products can be created fast (when I was writing
ebooks, I found I could write one in 3 days,
write the sales letter the following day, and start
selling it on day 5)
And with recorded products, I found I could
record about 3 hours per day (that still left
me 5 hours to run the rest of my business)
and have a 15 hour product recorded in 5 days.
And when I created my first coaching program...
I literally wrote the first lesson in an afternoon, then
each week I would write one new lesson for it...
took about 3 hours per week and I generated over
$100k with that program!

Imagine how it would feel if in one month you had

I remember when I first got started online. 聽 I tried out affiliate marketing. 聽 It worked. 聽 In small scale. 聽 I made a handful of sales. 聽 It cost me as much in traffic as I made in sales. 聽 Has that ever happened to you? 聽 So I broke even. 聽 Spent $1000 or so in traffic. 聽 Generated $1000 or so in affiliate commissions. 聽 0% return. 聽 Of course I could have kept selling those products, built a list to sell to (I didn't have a list back then, if you can imagine that!), and gotten better at targeting my traffic so I could have perhaps gotten to where I did $2000 or more for every $1000 invested in traffic. 聽 That would be a 200% return on investment, right? 聽 But wait! 聽 Who made an unlimited return on those affiliate sales? 聽 Remember, I broke even. 聽 I got about 70% of each sale.聽 And that about broke me even. 聽 And if I had decided to become an expert at affiliate marketing instead of article marketing, I would have found a way to make it profitable. 聽 I mean, a smart businessman would invest $1000 any day that he could turn it into $3000, right? 聽 But wait again. 聽 The person who owned the product made... 聽 Think about this first...how much did they pay for traffic? 聽 Nothing!聽 I paid for the traffic. 聽 How much did they make? 聽 Only 30%, right, they paid me 70%. 聽 But if they paid $0 for traffic, and made for example, $30 for each $100 I sold. 聽 Although they paid me...they never paid me until AFTER the money came in. 聽 So $0 investment - $30 return. 聽 Not quite unlimited ROI, because there are some fixed costs...hosting, customer service etc. 聽 But really...who made more money? 聽 Me? 聽 Or the person who owns the product? 聽 And we aren't just talking about a small difference. 聽 We are talking about I wasn't the only person who was selling for these guys. 聽 I paid $1000 for traffic, turned it into $1000 in commissions. 聽 They paid $0 for traffic, they kept about $430 (their share, 30%) 聽 Huge difference. 聽 I played that game for one summer. 聽 Then I started my business for real. 聽 I started creating my own products...and my life changed radically in less than a month...

Hmmm...my guess is that for each question, your choice

the expert.
So why do you think your subscribers want anything

So what should all this tell you?
Could it mean that the reason you aren't successful
is because you don't really KNOW deep inside your
niche material. You are just PRETENDING to know

How would it feel to create a new product in the next 3 days?
You can do it, here's how:
Step 1: Write out an outline. To do this, make a list of 10 main topics. Then create a step by step list of how to do each of the main topics.
Step 2: Record your step by step instructions for each main topic.聽 This can vary from 10 minutes to 60 minutes, depending on how deep you go
Step 3:聽 Write a sales page. If you have never written one before, use a sales letter creator.
That's all...it's really that easy.
And the first time you do it, you will wonder why you haven't already....
The key is simplicity :-)

Use this plan as your guide to get to your goals.

If it is not complete because you are missing some knowledge
on how to do some part of it - find someone to teach
you what you don't know.

For example, - if you don't know how to create 1000 subscribers
per month - find someone who is and learn from them how to do it.

Or if you need to create and launch a new product each month - find
someone who does and hire them to teach you how to do it.

By the way, you might be tempted to try to figure it all out on your own.

I advise against it.

And here's why:

1)聽 That hasn't been working so well for you so far, has it?

2)聽 Would you rather invest a few dollars in someone who knows
EXACTLY what to do and how to do it and learn it FAST and start
reaching your goals FAST - or would you rather spend countless hours
trying to figure it all out - and get results SLOW (not to mention you
might still not get the same results as if you had simply hired聽
the right person to teach you).

Here's a real-life example - if you were going to learn karate -聽
would you try to learn by guessing how and reading free articles
online - or would you hire the best karate trainer you could find?

Why Article Marketing???
~Contact.FirstName~ So why article marketing? I mean, really - what's so special about article marketing over all the different sources of traffic out there? Perhaps you are thinking...wouldn't it just be easier to pay $1 a click, or whatever the going rate is in your niche? And perhaps it would be easier that way... But what if those other sources of traffic just didn't convert as well as... article marketing? You see, one of the things I wanted to create when I created this business was a business that was evergreen...one that would stand the test of time. And one that would sort of "run itself" And yeah, yeah, yeah, I know...my business doesn't run itself. But...I don't have to buy traffic everyday. And in my case (probably not yours yet) I only spend about 10 minutes per week on my traffic. But that's because I have systematized my entire article marketing process so I can outsource the actual article marketing work. But when I first started, and if you are just getting started in article marketing...well, the articles have to be written. And until you know what converts and what doesn't, it doesn't make good sense to outsource it. But once you get your article system profitable and consistent, you can pretty easily outsource the entire process (like I said, I do, and I have codified my entire process so you can copy it if you want... more on that later) So let's get back to the premise of this email, the idea that...article marketing is really good traffic. These are the things I really like about article marketing: 1)聽 Unlike PPC, where you pay once (today) and you get a click (today) - with article marketing you pay once (today [either by time, writing the article yourself and submitting it yourself or with money, by paying someone to write the article and outsource it]) but you get traffic...for as long as the article gets seen in the search engines.聽 In my case, I have some articles that were written 4 years ago that still drive traffic to my site. What I like about this is that if I decide to cut back on my article marketing budget for a few months, my traffic doesn't just go away, like with PPC or other sources of paid traffic. 2)聽 The traffic you get from articles is very high quality. Now, the only way I can think to really explain this on a core level is to compare what happens when someone clicks through to your site from a PPC ad or some other advertising. In that case, they have responded to an ad like this: Discover the Secret to (your niche) Get the truth here (your url) Hmmmm....when someone comes to your site, what are the odds you are what they are looking for? Not good, in my opinion.聽 That's why most people click away from your site without taking action - because they are not very well targeted. Even if you have the keyword right....you usually don't have what they are looking for on the landing page...and they click away. Contrast that with article marketing. With article marketing, someone doesn't get to your site until they have...read one of your articles on the topic that is represented on your landing page. This means that if someone isn't interested in your landing page topic...they simply don't go to your website. They aren't a visitor. And that means that those who DO get to your website...they are more serious. And that means you can really target your landing page to getting them to take an action...because you aren't having to convince them of who you are and if you make sense first, because they already know that, because they have read your article. Now, this rabbit hole actually goes alot deeper than this...but this is the simplified version. The bottom line is...generally speaking...an article marketing generated visitor WANTS to be at YOUR site...and that makes a huge difference in quality of the visitor, and in the action that visitor takes on your site. Now perhaps you are concerned that article marketing is a lot of WORK...and it is. But it can be simplified..and outsourced. that's tomorrow's #1 priority is accomplished tomorrow?

can radically change your productivity level?
If so, print this out and refer to it each day.

Here's thing....if you are working on the wrong things, no matter how hard you work, you won't be productive.
(And if there is one thing I am qualified to talk about...it's being productive. In the last 5 years, I've written 14 books, created 33+ unique trainings, 7 coaching programs, sold hundreds of thousands in coaching personally, and helped many people get to a 5 figure income. And traveled an average of about 10 weeks a year.)
So how????
There are a few different things...but one of the most critical is this...the question: "Is what I am working on moving me closer to my goals?"
So...ask yourself that ... for today.
Today is about half over (when I send this, it might be over for you - so think about the full day) -
Think about everything you have done so far today.
Has each thing you have done moved you closer to your goals?
Anything you did today that did not move you closer to your goals...moved you away. Here's why: because it took time and energy that could have been used to get closer to your goals.
Any time spent reading or writing emails that did not move you closer to your goals...moved you away.
Any time you spent looking for information that did not result in moving closer to your goals...moved you away.
The time you spent IMing someone who you really didn't want to talk to anyway...moved you away.
Look, I don't know exactly what you did today. But you do.
Did what you did today, or are doing now, or will do in the next hour, move you closer to your goals?
Imagine a day where EVERYTHING you do moves you closer to your goals.
What kind of day would that be?
Look, I know this introspection isn't always easy.
But if you want to succeed in life...if you want the next 5 years to be better than the last 5 - if you want the next 6 months to be better than the last 6 months - you gotta make a change.
Because if you keep doing what you have been doing, you will keep getting the same results.
So....what are you going to do about it?

What is your next step?
What is your next step? Meaning, you know what your goal is..right?
For example, you want to get to $5k a month, $10k a month, whatever your goal is.
Each morning when you wake up you should know what your next step is to getting closer to your goal.
If you don't, you probably don't have a good plan, a good roadmap, a good blueprint, whatever you call it.
Here's the thing - I ask a lot of people if they know what they need to do to get to $5k or $10k - and they say, yeah, I know what to do. I bought this, I bought that...I know what to do.
But then when I ask them “well why haven't you done it yet”, and dig a little...they tell me they are stuck on something. Or they don't know what to do next. Or they don't know how to do something.
And it turns out they DON'T have a blueprint, a roadmap...
They DON'T know what to do next.
And if they don't know what to do next...and next after that...and next after that...they aren't going to hit their goal.
Look, goalsetting is cool. But without an implementation plan...goals are kinda useless, wouldn't you say?
So what about you?
Do you know what your next step is?
And the next step after that?
Do you know what you need to do each morning when you wake up?
You see, each day when you wake up you should know what the next thing is that you need to do to accomplish your goal.
And if you don't...maybe you need someone to guide you along.
You can call them a coach, a mentor, a guide, whatever... but maybe you need someone to show you the way.
The thing is, it is so easy to think, “I can do this on my own”.
But the truth of the matter is...it's not working for you, is it?
I mean, are you really achieving your goals?
Are you on track to achieve your financial goals?
Maybe you need a mentor.
Here's the thing...if you just want to keep buying piecemeal instructions...from me or anyone else - that's ok.
But frankly - just buying a product usually only teaches you the one thing it is about.
But building a real business has like 100 moving parts. And no matter how much info about those moving parts you get, unless you get someone who can give you some feedback - and tell you what you are doing wrong, what you are doing right - then you usually don't make a lot of progress.
The thing is, that's what my clients do - they send me their emails when they write them, they send me their sales letters to read, they send me their products to evaluate - and I give them feedback -
So what about you?
