Polish Tomato Soup - Zupa Pomidorowa
Ingredients:
8 tomatoes, coarsely chopped (big can or 2 of chunked tomatoes)
1 large onion, sliced
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup water –only with fresh tomatoes
5 cups beef broth or 5 cups chicken broth
2 tablespoons instant flour
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (if you like it;)
Directions:
1 Place butter on sauce pan and heat a little, then put sliced onion, fry till it gets yellow and add can tomato, flour and cook a few minutes-stirring constantly.
1 Place the tomatoes, onions, butter and 1 cup water in a sauce pan and cook until the vegetables are soft add flour – only with fresh tomatoes!
2 Rub mixture through a sieve or blender don’t forget to add sour cream to blender.
3 Place water in soup pot, add broth and heat.
4 Mixture add to the boiling soup.
5 Add salt to taste and sugar and bring to a boil.
6 Serve with cooked rice or egg noodles;)
