In this stndy, tlić participants' fitness Icvcl was incasurcd in METs (sec bclow). Men witli a MET lcvcl less tlian 6 wcrc found to havc the highest mortality risk. MET lcvcls of 10 or morę werc found to havc the lowcst mortality risk. In addition, for cvcry 1 MET incrcasc in acrobic capacity, mortality dropped by 12%.
