THE MODLIN FORTRESS Object description:
The Modlin Fortress is a 200 years old fortification phenomenon which can be compared in the European scope only with the Fortress of Verdun. There need to be emphasized that the Fortress is a defence architecture monument build alternately by 4 nations: Poiish, Rgssian, French and German. The Modlin Fortress is placed 35km from the Warsaw's centre. Visitors can easily come here by the two-line road of Warsaw-Gdańsk direction. (It takes around 45 min from the city centre). The Fortress is settled on a picturesque slope upon the Narew and Vistula rivers mouth.
