THE MODLIN FOR TRESS

Object description:

The Modlin Fortress is a 200 years old fortification phenomenon which can be compared in the European scope only with the Fortress of Verdun. There need to be emphasized that the Fortress is a defence architecture monument build alternateiy by 4 nations: Polish, Russian, French and German. The Modlin Fortress is placed 35km from the Warsaw's centre. Visitors can easily come here by the two-line road of Warsaw-Gdańsk direction. (It takes around 45 min from the city centre). The Fortress is settled on a picturesque slope upon the Narew and Vistula rivers mouth.

In a smali distance, there is a former military airport which is now being adapted to the Cargo and civil airlines sernce.

An alluring localisation and convenient means of conveyance are conductive to the

deve!opment of the above object as a touring top spot.

Arranged venture is a part of larger project of The European Military Culture Centre.

The Modlin Fortress is Po!and's the biggest and most important monument of military engineering and fortification architecture. It is also the longest building in Europę measuring up to 2,5 km.
