Increase with Simple Knit Yarn Over

Increaso both sides of center stitch 1 stitch with a yam over. Purl stitch the new loops on the purl row of the wrong side. This makes 2 large holes.

Increase with Twisted Knit Yarn Over

2 In the next row, on the wrong side of the work, purl the yarn over the loop.

2 ...purl the loop twisted by in-serting the needle into the back part of the loop from left to right. On the stockinette stitch side, this increase slants to the left.

On both sides of the center stitch, increase 1 stitch using a yarn over, and purl it with a twist in the next row. This makes the holes smaller.

IFor symmetrical increases on both sides of the center stitch. place the yarn over “the wrong way" ahead of tho center stitch, and “normally" afier the center stitch.

2 In the next row. purl the “nor-mal” yarn over twisted. Purl tho “wrong way" yarn over as shown. On the right side of the work, this increase is slanted to the right.

For symmetrical increases, work the yarn ovors differently before and after the center stitch.
