Row 1 (wrong side):

Sc in next 18 sc. Ch 1, tum, leaying rem sc unworkcd.

Row 2 (right side):

Sc in each sc. Ch 1. tum.

Row 3:

Dec ovcr first 2 sc (to work dcc: draw up Ip in each of next 2 sts, YO and draw through all 3 Ips on hook— dcc madę); sc in each sc to last 2 sc; dcc over last 2so—16sc. Ch 1, tum.

Row 4:

Dcc over first 2 sc; sc in cach sc to last 2 sc; dec over last 2 sc—14 sc. Ch 1, turn.

Rows 5 through 7:

Rep Rosy 4. At end of Row 7—8 sc.

Row 8:

Dec; sc in next sc. ch 2—buttonholc mado; sk next 2 sc, sc in ncxt sc, dcc—4 sc. Ch 1. turn.

Row 9:

Sc in first 2 sc, 2 sc in ncxt ch-2 sp; Sc in nexl 2 SC— Gsc.Ch 1, turn.

Row 10:

Dec; sc in ncxt 2 sc, dec—4 sc. Ch 1, turn.

Row 11:

Dec lwice—2 sc. Finish off.

Edging:

Hołd pursc with right side of flap facing you; join yarn only in first unworkcd SC to left of Row 1 of flap. Ch 1. working in ends of sc rows of flap, revcrse sc (sce Stitch Guide on page 4) in Rows 1 through 11; working across Row 11. roversc sc in ncxt 2 sc; working along next side in ends of rows, reversc sc in Rows 11 through 1; working in unused sc of body, rcvcrsc sc in each st; join in first reversc sc.

Finish off and woave in all ends.

Bottom:

Hołd piece with right side facing you and beg ch at top; jom yarn only in 3rd unused Ip of beg ch to right of joining.

Row 1 (right side):

Ch 1. sc in same Ip as joining; working in unused Ips of beg ch, sc in next 26 Ips—27 sc. Ch 1. turn, leav-ing rem Ips unworkcd.

Row 2:

Sc in each sc. Ch 1, turn.

Rows 3 through 6:

Rop Row 2. At end of Row 6. do not ch 1, do not turn. Finish off. Icaving an 18* end for sewing.

Strap

Notę: Strap is worked holding one strand of yarn and one strand of thread tog.

With both strands hcld tog, and leaying a 12* end for sewing, ch 170; sl st in each ch.

Finish off, leaying a 12" end.

Finishing Step 1:

Sk nexi 4 unused Ips of beg ch, with long end. sew last row of bottom to ncxt 27 sts of body, thon sew cach end closed.

Stop 2:

Rcferring to photo for placcmont, sew ends of strap to wrong side of Row 21 of body.

Step 3:

Sew button to pursc opposite buttonholc.
