FINISHING
With cir needle and black, pick up and knit 18 sts along top of each triangle and 1 st in each space between them—152 sts total. Place marker (pm) and join in the md. Purl 1 md. BO all sts loosely. Weave in ends. Fetting: Felt bag in washing machinę on lowest water level with highest temperaturę. Add a pair of jeans for agitation if desired. Check progress frequently. Push center of bottom of bag up into bag to form a pleat, then let dry. Handles: Cut the leather cord into 2 equal pieces of desired handle length. Spread the leather strips at each end of the plait as you would spread fingers on a hand. Using a sewing machinę, sew the leather strips onto a strong piece of fabric. Sew this piece onto the inside of the felted tote as invisibly as possible. Lining: Cut 2 pieces of lining fabric, each 1" wider and 1" longer than tote. With RS tog and using a Zi" seam allowance, sew side and bottom seams. Tum upper edge of lining under Zi" for seam allowance. With WS tog, sew lining to tote along top of tote. □
