Yarn Brown Sheep Cotton Fine (80% cotton, 20% wool; 222 yd [203 mJ/50 g): *CF825 truffle (dark brown; A), 3 (4, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6) balls; *CF450 oriental jadę (B), 2 (2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4) balls; *CF375 rue (dusty blue; C), *CF380 dusty sagę (D), and *CF455 willow leaf (green-yellow; E), 1 (1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2) ball(s) each.

Needles Size 4 (3.5 mm): 24" or longer circular (cir). Adjust needle size if neces-sary to obtain the correct gauge.

Work as for left front, beg with St 1 (3, 4,

2, 4, 3, 1) and ending with St 4 of chart.

UPPER BACK

With E and the provisional method, CO 72 (84, 90, 102,114, 132, 144) sts. Do not join. Beg with Row 33, work Plaid chart (see Notes) as foli:

Row 1: (RS; vertical stripe row) Beg with St 1 and ending with St 30 (42, 6, 18, 30,

6, 18) of chart, knit each st using color shown.

Slide work to other end of cir needle so RS is ready to be worked again.

Row 2: (RS; slipped st row) With C, *kl, sl 1; rep from * to end.

Turn work so WS is facing.

Row 3: (WS; yertical stripe row) Purl, working in colors as established in Row 1, leaving strand of C to be worked later.

Slide work to other end of cir needle so WS is ready to be worked again.

Row 4: (WS; slipped st row) With C, *pl, sl 1; rep from * to end of row.
