The master cylinder for the combined disc-drum system has a special check valve with a relief port which com-pletely reduces the pressure in the hydraulic after every brake application. These master cylinders are marked with a blue adhesive strip with the wording "AnschluB mit Spezial-Bodenventir (connection with special check valve).

The Type 3 is also being fitted with slotted Steel disc wheels as on the Type 1. The wheel caps. and on the 1600 models the trim rings as well. have been modified to suit.

The wheel bolts have been increased in size to 14 mm and the number per wheel reduced to 4.
