122 MAŁGORZATA DURYDIWKA
The conducted research proved that the cultural attractiveness of the rural areas of the both analysed administrative districts is based upon the objects of the materiał culture, and the sacred buildings have the biggest significance among them which is also true nationwide. In the Gorlice administrative district 53 sacred historie buildings are found. The second decisive factor of the cultural attractiveness of the Gorlice administrative district is the presence of historie militaiy graveyards dating from the I Wold War, which are considered to be the cultural and architectural worldwide phenomena. The designers of the graveyards, among whom Hans Mayr, Duśan Jurkowić and Jan Szczepkowski were the most significant, took the fuli advantage of the natural assets of the grounds placing the graveyards in the locations visible from afar.
The attractiveness of the Sokółka administrative district is also to a large degree based on monuments and especially on the sacred buildings which are in the number of 30. In the cases of the both administrative districts the monuments are the result of the cultural abrasion. Moreover, in the Sokółka administrative district the historie windmills, uniąue nationwide, are found, as well as 20 court and manorial complexes. However, due to their mostly poor or even residual condition, the complexes do not account for the cultural value of the region. It is worthy to underline that in the Sokółka administrative district some precious spatial structures of towns survived, with the preserved rural and provincial buildings dating from the 16 - to the 18™ century.
The both administrative districts are also known for their folk handicraft which is being offered to tourists during the freąuent folk and cultural events.
Even though the both districts are not ranked among the most popular touristic regions in Poland, they seem to be interesting and worth visiting in respect for their cultural values. However, no tourist will come to a place or a region of the outstanding value if he finds no information why he should visit it. Recently the Internet plays a significant role in the touristic promotion. Among the others, the following criteria were used at rating the Internet promotion of the cultural values of the rural areas in the Gorlice and Sokółka administrative districts: the localisation of a building/an event/a folk handicraft workshop; the information about a building/an event/a product of the folk handicraft; the readability of the web page (the availability and the facility of moving around; links to the other web pages containing information about the cultural values).
The research showed that the ąuantity and the ąuality of the information about the cultural values on the analysed web pages were veiy different. The
