MUSCLE REACTION BODY REACTION
Muscle reaction: Muscle reaction, is the action of the body which automatically opposes a force against it. Make this experiment with a friend.
(Do not tell him what you are attempting to prove). Ask him to make a fist and hołd it rigid. Push down against his fist until you feel strong resis-tance (which will be an upward push against your downard push), ąuickly puli up, Photo #2.
You will find that his fist will aid in your upward puli as the result of his previous resistance.
We use the principle of muscle reaction throughout our training.
Body reaction: Body reaction is similar to muscle reaction and may be demonstrated in the following manner: As in the above experiment, do not tell your partner what you are attempting to prove. Grasp his lapel or any cloth at upper chest height and puli forward until you feel his strong resistance back, Photo #3. When his resistance back is strong, ąuickly push back and you will find his body easily moving back out of balance. His former resistance gives additional power to your push, Photo #4.
