TO CREATE the base make a circle template with a circumference of 17cm. Tracę the shape on to a piece of linen. Tracę a second circle 2cm larger. Cut out along the outer circle.

Step 2

WITH right sides together, hem your stitched piece to create a tubę. Make surę that the circumference of the tubę is the same as the circumference of the cirde.

PIN and stitch the tubę to the base. Tum right side out. Fold and hem the top edge of the linen. If desired add a fabric border beyond the hemmed linen edge.

Step 4

FOR the cord, cut a 3x115cm fabric strip. Fold and press the raw edges under. Fold in half and sew in place. Stitch the silk ribbon on the bag, tucking the cord under as you go.

Step 1

CUT your stitching and two pieces of pattemed fabric to measure 16x26cm. Machinę or handstitch a cream ribbon in place about 4cm from the top edge of your linen. Add cream buttons over the ribbon.

Step 2

FOLD the top edge of your linen under and hem. Fold the top edge of your patterned pieces under. With right sides out, sew the two pieces together along the top folded edge.

Step 3

FOR the fabric edging, cut a 2.5x50cm fabric strip. Fold in half and press. With right sides in, tuck the edging between your stitching and the pattemed fabric and sew in place. Turn right side out. For a simple option add metal fasteners.
