Now glue the arms in place. Use the smali tab, folded over the notch at the armpit. The long tab on each arm should be free at this time. You are now ready to glue on the armor for the shoulders. Cut the little slits at the top of the breast- and backplates if you have not already done so.
Then, one piece at a time, cut out the left pauldrons and glue them, overlapping, between the left arm and the neck, also attaching the top four pauldrons to the body armor. The lop pauldron on the page, with the tabs, is the one glued on first, to the top of the left rerebrace. Cut the slits between the tabs before gluing. The tabs should be at the top, with the "X" centered on the lowest square of the long tab. Now proceed in the same manner with the other four pauldrons, overlapping them as shown in the diagrams; the pauldron that lacks the tabs goes at the top, closest to the neck. As you go, pay attention to the shape of the shoulders, making adjustments as necessary. It will help to give the pauldrons curvature by bending them over the edge of a table. Also be surę that the arms remain pointing in the right direction. Repeat the entire process with the right pauldrons. Now neatly glue the motons (armpit guards) to the pauldrons and breastplate.
Next, glue the gorget around the neck. Then, glue the head and bascinet neatly over the gorget. Place the great hełm over the bascinet; the great hełm may be left remov-able, but you may permanently glue it in place if you wish. At this point check the knight against the diagrams. If you are satisfied with the symmetry and position of all the parts, the knight is ready to be placed on the base and receive his lance and shield.
Score, cut out, fold and glue together the base. Then cut out and glue on the "brass" piąte. Glue the soles of the knight's feet to the base, carefully centering him as you do
Now very carefully score the shaft and handle of the lance and cut out all the pieces for the lance. Form and glue together the hand guard; set it aside, then very carefully form and glue together the shaft of the lance. Slide the hand guard over the shaft and glue the tabs to the inside of the hand guard. Form and glue together the handle, apply a little glue to one end, and insert it a short way into the hand-guard end of the shaft. As the glue dries, adjust the position of the handle as necessary. Glue the tip of the lance in place.
Cut out the parts for the shield. Glue the front and back together, and then glue the straps in place. When the glue on the lance and shield is complete dry, you may position them as shown in the diagrams (alternatively, you may have the knight hołd the unsheathed sword provided).
This completes your model of an English knight.
