MATERIALS: 1/2 (405-yd) bali Cebe-lia crochct cotton no. 20. or J. and P. Coais 6-cord Big Bali no. 20, white; siec! crochet hook US si/.c 7. Round piccc of white net. 14" in diametcr. Needle and thread.

SOTE: Using gridlines in Complcted Work diagram as a guide, enlarge design to actual sizc on paper ruled in I" squares. Tracę enlarged pattern on a shcct ol' łhin paper. Fix on a piece of cardboard.

TO MAKE - SI EMS AND TENDRILS : Work crochcted cords to fit actual-size diagram. Make 2 stems and 12 tendrils (6 lor cuch stem).

LEAF A (make 8) : Ch 11. Ran ! : Ch 1 to turn tliroughout. Beg with 2nd ch from hook. work sc in each of next 10 sts. 5 sc in nc.xt st. across other sidc of beg ch work sc in cach of9 ncxt sts. tum. Rom 2-7: In each row ch 1 to tum. sk first sc. work across in rib st (- sc. but insert hook in back strand of st of prev r). Ieave 2 sts unworked at end of r 2. Icavc 1 st unworked at end of subscquent rows; in center st of leaf base work 3 sc in each row. On row 7. join center st of leaf base to vinc stem with sl st. positioning !cavcs as per pattern.

LEA YES B and C (make 6 B and 4 C): Work same as for Leaf A. but follow respcctivc diagranis.

LARGERING(make 34): Wind end of thread 5 limes around stick or pencil 3/8" in diametcr. In 5-strand !p thus formed ch 1. work 20 sc. cut thread. but Ieave an end long enough to finish with sewing needle as follows: slip needle under both horizontal strands of first sc. draw thread, slip needle under both horizontal strands of last sc. draw thread. sccurc end of thread by weaving it through a few morę strands.

SMALI. RINGI,make 10): Wind end of thread 5 times around stick or pencil 1/4" in diametcr. In 5-strand Ip thus formed ch I, work 12 sc, then finish as for large ring.

LACE EDG/NG : L)ividc circum-ference of round net piece into 8 equal parts and mark each of 8 points lightly with a pencil. Rnd I : Inserting hook 1/8’ from edge, ch 1, work (1 sc, 5 ch) around. having 18 ch Ips bet each 2
