Hard limescale deposits around taps can be softened for easy removal by covering the deposits with vinegar-soaked paper towels. Leave the paper towels on for about one hour before cleaning. Leaves chrome clean and shiny.
If you have a removable plastic shower head. combine 570ml/1 pint white vinegar and 570ml/1 pint hot water. Completely submerge the shower head and soak for about one hour.
Porcelain
To clean porcelain surfaces. rub with cream of tartar sprinkled on a damp cloth.
Rust stains and hard water deposits
Apply full-strength vinegar or lemonjuice and let stand until spot disappears. rinse. Repeat if necessary.
Soap scum and rust stains
Salt is great on soap scum and rust stains and it is a natural bleacher. Use 450ml/2 cups of water to 1 teaspoon of salt. Alternatk/ely soak a sponge in fuli strength vinegar wipe the affected area. let stand for five minutes then rinse with clean water.
Neat lemonjuice can also be applied to rust stains. Let thejuice stand until the spot disappears. Then rinse and repeat if necessary.
Stubborn stains
To remove stubborn stains from most surfaces. use a baking soda pastę (3 parts baking soda. one part water). Apply. let stand, then scrub or wipe clean.
Tiles
Clean your ceramic tiles with a solution of TI0ml/1/2 cup vinegar to 4ltrs/1 galion warm water. Help tiles to stay cleaner by wiping them with a mixture of tea tree oil and water.
