Yardages are based on 44/45"w fabric.
You will need 7» yd yellow plaid fabric, 7s yd green polka-dot fabric, 2'A yds of 'A" dia. cotton cord, scraps of green felt, 2" dia. pink button, two 7A" dia. yellow buttons, 16" x 20" pillow form, fabric glue, and polyester fiberfill (optional).
Match right sides and use a 'A" seam allowance for all sewing unless otherwise indicated. Our chair seat measures ló'/2" x 19". You may have to adjust pillow size and fabric yardages to fit gour seat.
1. Cut two 17'A" x 20" pieces of yellow fabric for pillow front and back.
2. Read Making and Attaching Welting, page 94. Make welting from green fabric and baste to pillow front.
3. Leaving most of one side open, sew pillow back to pillow front.
4. Clip corners and tum pillow right side out; press. Insert pillow form; stuff corners with fiberfill as needed. Hand sew opening closed.
5. Stack one yellow button on pink button. Read Tufting a Pillow, page 95, to sew stacked buttons to center front and remaining yellow button to center back of pillow.
6. Cut out smali leaf shapes from green felt. Glue leaves under pink button.

You will need a 17" square pillow form, 5/s yd green polka-dot fabric, 'A yd blue fabric, 'A yd pink fabric, scrap of pink polka-dot fabric, scrap of dark green fabric, scrap of yellow plaid fabric, scrap of white felt, 2 yds white bali fringe, 17A" dia. button from covered button kit, paper-backed fusible web, tracing paper, and freezer paper.
Mflfcfi right sides and use a 'A" seam allowance for all sewing unless otherwise indicated.
1. Cut an 18" square from tracing paper. Connecting corners, draw a linę to form an "X.” Cut out one triangle from "X" for pattern.
2. Using pattern, cut two green triangles, one pink triangle, and one blue triangle.
3. With green triangles placed opposite each other, position triangles to form a square. Sew triangles together along short sides and then long edge to make pillow front.
4. Enlarge pattern, page 91, 167% on photocopier. To reverse pattern, tum enlarged pattern over.
Place fusible web over pattern, web side down.
Tracę outer flower and leaf patterns, leaving approx. 'A" between patterns. Fuse web to wrong side of fabric pieces. Cut out appliques along drawn lines; remove paper backing.
5. Lay pillow front right side up on ironing board. Refer to photo to arrange appliques on pillow front, overlapping pieces as necessary. Fuse in place.
6. Machinę satin stitch around fabric appliques with matching thread.
7. Tracę inner flower piece pattern onto freezer paper. Iron pattern to felt; cut out and remove freezer paper. Cover button with yellow fabric.
Sew button through center of inner flower piece to appliqued flower.
8. Baste bali fringe to right side of pillow front.
9. Cut an 18" square of green fabric for pillow back. Leaving most of bottom edge open, sew pillow front to pillow back. Clip corners and tum pillow right side out; press. Insert pillow form; hand sew opening closed.
