The back and front of this simple yet cye-catching bag are knitted in one piece in stockinettc (stocking) stitch (see page 23). It is then sewn up and the handles and lining attached.

Sew in slccvcs belween markers.

Join sidc and slccvc scams.

Sew on huttons.

Fold front and back in half wilh RS together and sew sidc and Imiiom scams. Fold the 6 rows of li lo the inside lo form a facing and sew inlo place. Fold handles along ihcir Icnglh and slipstitch casi on edge lo IhiuihI (casi) ofT erlge. Place markers for handles l'/;in (4cm) from ilu* sides along Ihe top crlge. Sew handles lo bag. ibrough facing only.

UNING_

Neatcn die edges of the fabric. Fold in half and sew sidc scams. using a scam allowancc of Vłin (I.Scm). Fold ovcr Ihe scam allowancc along top edge and press. Push lining inlo bag wilh wrong sides together and sew along Ihe facing.
