♦ The instruction chart repre-sents section C, the upper part of section A.

♦ Start at its lower right-hand corner and stitch the pattern from right to left. Then reverse the canvas and stitch the section D, changing the flower colors accordingly, and continue stitching until E is completed.

♦    Tum the canvas completely around to stitch section F, changing the flower colors. Where sections C-D and E-F meet, the divisions are indicated by a sewn white threads (later removed). Here the bargello stitching is mitred - see Stitching page 138.

♦    For detailed stitching instructions, see Stitching page 138

♦    Use Madeira Silk and Madeira Decora as supplied (it is helpful to apply beeswax to the end of the Madeira Decora thread).

♦ Unless you are skilled at such finishing, this lampshade should be fabric-lined and framed by a professional lampshade maker familiar with handling canvas or textiles - see Suppliers’ Addresses, page 141.
