EXERCISE. -
READY POSITION.
Stand erectj with the feet about 18in. apart, the upper part of the body 'uvturned as far to the rlght as possible, with the head turned looking over the right shoulder, the arms straight, and swung around to the right side.
MOVEMENT.
(1.1 Swing the arms from right to left, at the same time turning the body to the left side as much as possible, with the head looking over the left shoulder, exhaling.
(2) Swing the arms from left to right again, returning to the ready position, inhaling.
This completes the exeroise once.
The feet should not move; the prin-cipal movement is madę by the trunk turning on the pelvis, and by part rotation of the vertebrae. After performing this movement half the number of tiraes, change the breathing, exhaling when turning from left to right, and inhaling from right to left.
Muscles chiefly brought into playl-Peotoralis Major (3), Latissimus Dorsi (15), Obliąuus Abdominis (5), Gluteus Medius t6).
Perform this exercise daily.
