Ever-increasing chains between double crochet stitches make this mesh border ruffle ni cely. Add morę rounds for a wider border, increasing or maintaining the number of chains between the double crochets to adjust the amount of fullness.

Base md, each side: Multiple of 2 + 1 + corner sts. Begi n 2 sts to left of corner.

Rnd 1: Ch4 (counts as dc and ch-1), skip 1 st *[dc in next st, ch 1, skip 1 st] to corner st (dc, ch 3, dc, ch 1) in corner st, skip 1 st rep ffom * around, join with slip st to 3rd chof ch-4.

Rnd 2: Ch6 (counts as dc and ch-3), *[dcinnextdc, ch 3]** to corner space, (dc, ch 3) two times in corner space; rep fiom * around, ending last rep at **, joi n with slip st to 3rd ch of ch-6.

Rnd 3: Ch8 (counts as dc and ch-5), *[dcinnextdc, ch 5]** to corner space, (dc, ch 5) two times in corner space; rep from * around, ending last rep at **, joi n with slip st to 3rd ch of ch-8. +1
