4JL5 Induction error (cłass A only)
To avoid the induction error which is caused by an inadequate arrangement of magnetic elements in the directional system and introduced by magnetic induction in correctors (iron spheres or similar conventtonai correctors) of coeffident D due to the magnetic elements in the directional system, one of the followtng feąrśrements shall be fulfilled:
a) The vaiue of the rafio of coeffident H to coeffident O shall not exceed 0,08.
b) The coeffident F of the sextantial deviation caused by a smali magnet, less than 50 mm in length, placed in the same horizontal piane as the magnetic elements at a tangential distance of about 40 cm from the centra of the directional system, is less than 0,01 of coeffident B of the semidrcular deviation.
4.5.6 Mounting error of azimuth reading device
Where the azimuth reading device is pivoted on the compass bowl, the vertical axis of the device shall be MAthin 0,5 mm of the pivot point.
4.5.7 Error due to eccentricity of the verge ring (class A only)
tf the verge ring is graduated, the perpendicular to the piane of this ring through the centre of the graduations shall be within 0,5 mm of the pivot point.
a) Damp heat test and rain and spray test shall be carried out according to the requirement of IEC 60945, and shall meet the reądrements.
V»bration test may be additionatly carried out according to the requirement of IEC 60945 (Optional).
NOTĘ Env tron men tal condition test of the magnetic compass for lifeboat/rescue boats are specified in Annex H
H.2.3.
Depending on the type of ship on which it shall be fixed, one of two types of binnacle may be used: type A1 or type A 2. The characteristics of the two types are indicated in 5.1 and 5.2.
Magnetic compasses and binnades are combined to be used as given in Table 10.
