1    From thc Pottproeessing menu choosc Plot Parameters.

2    Click thc General tab.

3    Clcar thc Slice chcck box.

4    Sclcct both thc Boundary and Deformed shape check boxes.

5    Cfick thc Deform tab.

6    Clcar thc Auto chcck bo.\, and in thc Scalę factor edit field enter 1 .0.

| Click OK.

8    Click thc Zoom Extents button.

9    Go to thc Camera toolbar on thc leffc sidc of the user interface and click the Headligl button.

STIFFENING THE CENTER SECTION

1    FrOJtn thc Physics menu choosc Subdomain Settings.

2    In thc Subdomain selection list choosc 1, 2, 7-10, and 13-16.

3    Click the Materiał tab.

4    Click thc Load button.

5    From thc Materials list choose Libraryl>Steel AiSi 4340.

6    Click OK twicc.

7    Click thc Solve button.

The resulting postprocessing plot is shown in Figurę 2-11 on page 59.

PRE-STRESS VS. DISPLACEMENT

1    From the Solve menu choose Solve Parameters.

2    From thc Analysis list choose Parametric.

3    Click the General tab.

4    In thc Name of parameter edit field enter Stress.

5    In thc Ust of parameter values enter 0:1 e9:10e9.

6    Click OK.

7    Click the Solve button. The analysis rnight require several minutes to complete.

8    From thc Postprocessing menu choose Cross-Section Plot Parameters.

9    Click the Point rab.

10    In thc Predefined quantities list choose Total displacement.
