right sizcs and can drill thc holcs in thc handles accurately, make surÄ™ that rhe tang is tapered to a point. The best way to fit a handle is to fix the chiscl in a vicc and then gcntly tap rhe handle on to the tang, rotating the handle and frequently shaking out the wood that thc corncrs of the tang rcam out. Whcn thc shoulder of the chisel is about 6mm (Win) from the handle make surÄ™ that the blade is in linÄ™ with the handle. It may necd to be rotated for this. It is particularly important that the blade does not veer to one side. If you have to choose betwcen anhedral (pointing downwards) and dihedral (pointing upwards), choose dihedral. A handle of a hard wood such as box nccds to be closer to the shoulder before being driven homc. The handle is driven on with a strong mallet stroke.
