Summary:
The following thesis has been aimed at designing a space frame for a two-seated retro shaped sports car ,constructing its three-dimensional model, carrying out its strength and buckling analysis as well as at determining natural frequencies of the frame during vibration using FEM method.
At the beginning of the thesis the author gives generał information on car body con-structions and their carrier elements, describes different types of car frames including a few examples and presents brief overview of materials applied nowadays in the car body con-structing .
In the further chapters of the thesis the author gives his comments on trusses and frames, the way of carrying loads and provides strength and buckie analysis of these con-structions.
The thesis contains information on loads affecting a vehicle in move, the road model, analysis cases , dynamie coefficients of mass force.
In the thesis the author also presents assumptions requirements which should be ful-filled by the vehicle being designed, the materiał applied for the frame construction, sets the factor of safety, allowable stress and stiffness standard.
The author has carried out FEM analysis of beam model of frame and shell model of two the most loaded frame node. Basing on FEM analysis the author of the thesis has defined appropriate beam cross-sections. The conditions ored < Odop, <Vd < have been checked and the natural frequencies and frame stiffness have been defined.
