Enabling Row Movement on a Table

Bcforc you can use Flashback Table, you must ensure that row movement is cnabled on the table to be Jlashed back, or returned to a prcvious statc. Row movement indicates

that rowids will changc after the flashback occurs. This rcstriction cxists because if rowids before the flashback were stored by an application, then there is no guarantee that the rowids will correspond to the same rows after the flashback.

To enable row movement on a table:

1.    Connect RMAN to the target database as described in "Connecting to the Target Database" on page 9-9.

2.    Enable row movement for all the objects that you want to rewind using Flashback Table.

ALTER TABLE hr.employees ENABLE ROW MOVEMENT;

For this example, you must also enable row movement on the tables hr. j obs and

hr.departments.
