Mimo braku dedykowanych do tego celu narzędzi aktywni studenci wykorzystują informacje zawarte na stronach do korespondencji z nauczycielami (poprzez e-mail). Dokumenty udostępniane na stronach są przez nich komentowane, niekiedy sami domagają się umieszczenia określonych materiałów. Studenci sprawdzają swoje oceny i komunikują się z administracją. Narzędzia takie jak syllabusy przedmiotów okazały się rozwiązaniem skutecznym, nawyku pełnego ich wykorzystania muszą się jednak nauczyć zarówno studenci, jak i nauczyciele. W przyszłości możliwości komunikacji między pracownikami uczelni a studentami poprzez system „Recto” będą rozszerzane i uzupełniane.

Abstract

The University of Finance and Management in Białystok (WSFIZ) is the biggest private higher school in the North-Eastem Poland. The main campus of the University with four faculties is located in Białystok, three of them are located in Elk, one faculty was also created in Ostrów Mazowiecka. There are together about 7000 students attending fuli- and part-time studies. The University was granted a licence to offer Master's degree courses in: Management and Marketing (1997), Finance and Banking (2002), and Regional Studies (2003). In addition, it offers 13 Bachelor program mes and numerous postgraduate studies.

In order to support the management and administration of the school and to improve and extend the learning process the Internet application was designed and applied in academic year 2002/2003. The system called “Recto” is integrated with the schooPs website and consists of modules: E-student, Candidate, Teacher, Dean’s Office and Administrator. Ali these modules, apart from the Candidate module, require a login procedurę. The Dean’s Office and Teacher modules are designed to manage the learning process, while E-student and Teacher modules are the Internet platform for communication between the schooPs administration, teachers and students. Teachers use their modules to input syllabuses and marks into the system.
