Elements of magie and occultism perpetuated and treasured

in existing language based on examples from Polish and Italian proverbs

and phraseology.

Paremiology or - morę frankly - knowledge about proverbs is the exclusively interdisci-plinary section of the language. Proverbs are researched by masters of the linguistics, literaturę specialists, ethnographers, sociologists and even historians. This is a domain of the science, which cannot be definitely classified and non-ambiguously typecasted as one or even two subjects of it.

One of most important characteristic feature of proverb, as well for phraseology term is smali variability, the archaism. Proverbs emerged in different ages, so, they were witnesses such but not other contemporary condition of the language, its grammar and lecsical which was giving them (proverbs) the life.

The main goal of the presentation will be explanation, based on proverbs and phraseolog-ical relationships that our ancestors have been very close to the world of magie, alchemy and occultism. Proverbs, particularly the folk, have been maintained unchanged by departed ages and kept - sometimes shocking - image of old, ancient person, who not only blessed God and feared devil but also believed stars, activities and efficiency transferred from father to son of magie function, which could save health and life.
