Education methods |
The course comprises lectures using (where appropriate) transparencies / presentations of research of socio-economic phenomena and exercises - working individually and in groups. | |
Form and terms of examination |
Form and terms of credit: • Students are assessed on the basis of two or three written tests covering writing skills verification based on solving tasks of choosing appropriate descriptive characteristics, their determination and interpretation of detailed series and aggregated data to a series of interval and correlation tables (students during the tests can benefit from standardized statistical tables). Each test must be passed for a minimum of 60%. The average of the ratings represents 80% of the credit assessment. A necessary condition for completing with the weight 0.20 is independently prepared essay, presented in two stages on consultation exerdses. The form and terms of the exam: • a written examination testing the knowledge and skills of students (knowledge 80%, skills 20%) in the use of parameters describing one-and two-dimensional structures and dynamie characteristics. The exam includes open-ended questions relating to analytical examples in which student must demonstrate knowledge of the principles necessary to conduct analysis and knowledge of the property of statistical measures being used. During the exam students may use the standardized statistical tables and formulas. Rating: • Student receives a sufficient assessment - if he can describe the characteristics of the population using figures for qualitative and quantitative characteristics of central tendency, dispersion, asymmetry, concentration and correlation (regression), knows the research methodology of socio-economic phenomena and characterize |
