CENTRAL MEDICAL LIBRARY — ITS PRESENT AND FUTURĘ

The Central Medical Library has been organized in 1945 by Stanisław Konopka. The Grst part of the Library history was mainly the collection building time. The beginning of the second part of the Library activity has been marked by the first successful attempts of Computer applications in medical science information retrieval with the access of CML to MEDLINE. It is now time to start to the integrated automation system for all Library functions. This development is seriously hindered by the lack of proper location: only recently the Library obtained one of the buildings of the former Ujazdowski Hospital. The Library serves sińce 1987 as the central Polish library for medical Sciences coordinating the activity of the whole medical libraries network.
