separate sheets — from the surface waterfeatures; the landforms, with special stress on slopes; the surface materials and especially the alluvial and colluvial deposits; the hydrogeology, with special emphasis on water bearing formations, faults (joints, etc., and sometimes also from the ve-getation) land use. The finał conclusions are then drawn from the results of this multiple analysis. The author carried out a research of this kind in a part of East Africa where lack of water interfered with the introduc-tion of cattle.
The applicability of photo geomorphology in natural resources sur-veys is increasingly appreciated by those concerned. The International Training Centre for Aerial Survey has the advantage that students come from all parts of the world and confront the instructors with their speci-fic problems. The staff members thus get an open eye for the practical aspects of their fields of science. The numerous projects carried out abroad by the staff members contribute not only to the development of the areas concerned but also to the development of applied geomorpholo-gical and other research. The progress of aerial survey techniąues, such as super wide angle photography, special emulsion types, electronic dodging, etc. results in increasingly better tools for the exploration of the natural resources of the world.
