Jimmy sat on his rock and looked out over the herd. The llamas grazed on the far side of the
meadow, down by the pond. He didn t worry too much about them. The adults were much too big to fit
through the fence and the crias tended to stay in the middle of the herd. He lifted his field glasses, just
to be sure. The dozen or so little llamas played in their open space in the middle of the herd, right where
they belonged.
Closer to his rock, the alpacas milled about. He swept his glasses across them. They were smaller
and thicker than the llamas. A line of females squatted together, stretching out from the dung pile.
Jimmy shook his head. Alpacas were the strangest creatures he d ever minded. What kind of animal shit
in even rows? If it weren t for the alpacas, he probably wouldn t be spending the next two days up here,
so he was willing to let that slide. One of the alpacas was due to have a baby in the next few days, and it
was his job to make sure no wolves or coyotes tried to interfere.
Jimmy set the glasses on his lap and leaned back against the rock. He tilted his hat forward and
let his eyes close. Getting up at four in the morning to ride all the way across the ranch left a man tired.
Wolves and coyotes weren t going to hassle the animals before noon, anyway. God s creatures had
more sense than get up so early. He dozed in the morning sun.
When he woke, the sun had only moved a hand s span across the sky. About an hour nap. Not
bad. Jimmy stretched and groaned. He levered himself to his feet and shook off some of the stiffness
from his muscles. Part of the stiffness wouldn t go, though. He lifted the glasses to his eyes and surveyed
the meadow. There wasn t a soul in sight. Truth be told, there probably wasn t a soul within miles.
Probably wouldn t be until someone came out at dusk to give him some backup, either. He unhitched his
belt buckle and unzipped his drawers. His lingering stiffness popped free as he slid his pants down. Say
what you will about working the high meadows, but it did give a man some private time.
Jimmy s rough hands wrapped around his cock. He squeezed the shaft a bit and watched as the
crown plumped up purple. He gave it an experimental stroke. The skin of his shaft slid easily in his grip. A
smile crossed his face as he settled back against the rock. He kept half an eye on the herd, half an eye on
the horizon, but his attention wandered inward.
Images of the cowboy shower flitted through his mind s eye. Shane s thick arms glistening in the
steam. He stroked a little faster. Darren s firm ass rippling in the stream of water as bent over for soap.
His other hand slid down and cupped his balls. Randy s big ol cock flopping around as he washed up.
Jimmy groaned as he pumped his fist up and down his meat. If any one of them knew how he thought
about them, they d run him off the ranch& or worse.
His body hummed with electricity. He closed his eyes, focusing on the motion of his hands,
focusing on his cock. He twisted to the side as the hum turned into a great crackling discharge. His eyes
opened just in time to see the great squirt of cum arc out onto the rock beside him. A few more ropes of
stringy goo spurted out. Jimmy covered his thigh with his hand and kept the cum from staining his
Wranglers. He plucked his spare hanky from his back pocket and cleaned up the evidence.
With the pressure released, Jimmy decided to walk down to the llamas and stretch his legs. The
alpacas turned a placid eye toward him, but otherwise ignored him. He picked his way downhill, careful
to avoid llama spoor. It was hard to spot it in the tall grass. Shoot, it was hard to move in the tall grass
he had to push through just to get anywhere.
He probably should be in college like his Mama wanted. His love life would improve, probably.
Maybe. How many queers were there in Wyoming? Couldn t be many, he figured. It seemed odd,
though. All those men spending all that time together. There weren t many girls in the business,
certainly not enough to go around. It was enough to make a man wonder.
He kept his distance from the llamas. They weren t mean spirited creatures, but a man on foot
could get hurt in a bad way if a 400 pound llama gave him a kicking, even if it was on accident. The grass
was chewed down pretty good and made the going easier. He skirted around the herd and made his way
to the fence.
Old, split wood posts as big around as his leg held up splintered cross pieces. Layers of bird shit
coated the top of the fence. It looked like it could have been there for a hundred years. It was old, that
was for sure. He rested a boot on the bottom rail and looked off into the trees. A flicker of movement
caught his eye. After watching for a few minutes, his eyes settled on the shape. A wolf. It stood nearly
still, deep in the trees, watching. Its only movement was the turning of its head every so often. It sent a
shiver down his spine.
Don t you be giving me no trouble, Jimmy said to the wolf. He didn t believe for an instant that
the wolf would be anything but trouble, and he knew that where there was one wolf, there would be
more. He spit over the rail, his eyes still on the watching the wolf. It s going to be a long night, isn t it?
Jimmy ambled across the shorn grass and climbed up through the weeds toward his rock. Might
as well get some shuteye while I can.
***
The sun hung just above the mountains when the far off clatter of horseshoes on stone
announced the arrival of the evening s dinner. Jimmy hoisted his glasses to his eyes again and looked
down the trail. A moment later a cowboy hat bobbed into view. Darren s tanned face appeared beneath
it, and the rest of his body and his horse soon followed. The butt of a rifle bounced along beside the
cowboy. Jimmy breathed a sigh of relief. If the wolves were going to cause problems, at least they d
have some real firepower.
Evening, Jim, Darren called as his horse approached the rock. I got your dinner here. Steak
and taters, but you ll have to cook it.
Jimmy grinned. I don t mind doing some cooking for fresh steak. How many did you bring?
Plenty for both of us. How s things up here?
Herds are doing okay, but I been watching a pack of wolves all afternoon.
Darren raised his eyebrows. Is that right?
Jimmy nodded.
Shoot, that s bad. Those critters won t know what to do about wolves. He gestured toward
the alpacas. You got a rifle?
Just a coyote gun. I got a .45, though. If they get close.
Darren chewed his lip. We need to put the hurt on a couple of them. They won t leave you be,
otherwise.
I figured I d build bonfire down there about thirty yards off this rock. Then I d bring the critters
on up by it and keep an eye out.
You ever dealt with a wolf pack before?
Nope.
I figured not. Wolves are smart. They ll figure out where you are and they ll drive the critters
away until they can pick off one or two. Darren stared at the tree line on the other side of the llamas.
A bonfire ain t going to do you no good other than ruining your night vision. I ll go down by the alpacas.
You stay up here. We ll get us a crossfire. Just remember, don t shoot toward the alpacas. I don t want
no friendly fire.
Alright. How about we eat first then?
Darren grinned. Agreed. It s going to be a long night.
***
The coals at the base of the rock crackled in the breeze. Jimmy pulled his coat tighter. He wished
he were rolled up snug in his sleeping bag, asleep by the fire. Instead, he was sitting up on the rapidly
cooling rock hoping he didn t freeze to death before the wolves made their move. On the plus side, he
wasn t sitting next to a mountain of alpaca shit. There was always a silver lining, if you just looked for it.
He scanned the far side of the meadow with his field glasses. Shadows moved in the moonlight,
but they were too big and too shapeless to be the wolves. Just clouds, that s all. A bigger, bulkier
shadow moved by the fence row. He focused his glasses on it. A gray wolf slipped beneath the fence and
into the pasture. It slithered forward across the low grass until it disappeared behind a hummock of
stone and earth.
Jimmy checked the fence again. More wolves were easing into the pasture. At least they weren t
going to make him wait all night. He fondled the rifle in his lap. A .22 wasn t much of a weapon against a
wolf. A good shot to the head or heart could kill it, but that required better shooting than he could
manage. All he could realistically hope to do was scare the animal away, not kill it. Of course, if he
wounded a half dozen wolves, they d spend the next month or two healing up and wouldn t be able to
hassle the alpacas and the llamas.
The wolves crept forward toward the alpacas and Darren. Jimmy was sure the other man had to
see them. Shoot already, damn it. The last thing Jimmy wanted was the wolves to get close enough to
Darren that a stray bullet might him.
Jimmy aimed his rifle down the meadow. The wolves were harder to see without the glasses,
but humps of grass didn t ease forward. He reckoned he could put a round or two in the middle of the
closest humps without too much trouble.
CRACK! A shot rang out from the alpacas. The little, furry bastards charged away from the gun
and directly toward the wolves. Gray shapes rose from their crouch and dashed forward.
Jimmy sighted on the closest hump and squeezed the trigger. Crack! Yelp! He worked the bolt.
The spent shell bounced away, down the rock formation, with a tinkling sound. He fired again at a
moving wolf, but without success.
Even as he fired the second time, another resounding CRACK rang out below him. An agonizing
yowl rose from the meadow.
The wolves were among the alpaca. The furry critters cried out in their bizarre, high pitched
whine. The shape of the battle changed as they confronted the greater danger of the wolves and
reversed course. The herd flowed backward, back toward the dung pile, then angled up toward the rock
formation.
Jimmy sat helpless. He couldn t fire toward Darren and he couldn t fire toward the alpacas. A
third shot roared from Darren s rifle. This time Jimmy saw the flash from the end of the barrel. Darren
wasn t shooting toward him, but he wasn t angled too far away.
To heck with it. Jimmy drew his .45 pistol and pointed it into the air. He squeezed off a pair of
shots. The pistol roared like an angry God. The alpaca heard it and changed direction again, but this time
they angled away from where the wolves had entered the pasture. Perfect. Go up by the llamas.
Get on up there! Git! Jimmy howled with joy.
Below him, the wolves started to peel off. Big, dog-like shapes sped over the ground toward the
far fences. Jimmy holstered his pistol and raised his .22 again. The first few shots had no effect, but one
finally connected with a wolf, sending it tumbling.
You can git, too! Git on out of here. Git off my herd!
A figure emerged from the darkness, trudging toward the rocks in the moonlight. You hit
anything, loudmouth? Darren asked.
A couple.
Good. Better to kill some and wound some. The pack will have to care for its wounded. It ll
keep them away longer.
So what now? Jimmy said.
Hop on down. We need to make sure there aren t any wounded wolves down there. No sense
in letting God s creatures suffer.
Jimmy reloaded his pistol by the light of the fire and followed Darren down into the meadow.
***
I feel so empty now, Jimmy said. I was so wired.
Darren stirred the coals with a stick. That s natural. Adrenaline takes over, but when it s gone,
you crash back down.
Jimmy huddled into his blanket. It was colder than he d realized. Even down by the fire. You
dealt with a lot of wolves?
Only a few times. I used to ride bulls when I was younger, though. That ll make your heart
pump, sure as shootin.
Yeah? How d you up out here then?
Bullridin is a young man s game. You start getting into your thirties, things don t slow down for
you like they used to. And things take longer to heal. I had my run. Now I m taking it easy.
You re in your thirties? Why aren t you married? He blurted it out before he realized what he
was saying.
I just loved the bulls too much, I reckon. White teeth flashed in the darkness. Darren chuckled.
Never had time to settle down.
Loved bulls too much? Is he& is he gay? Jimmy sat back, poleaxed. How much older than me is
he, really? Ten, twelve years? He didn t dare hope he d met a kindred soul.
Cat got your tongue? Darren asked after a while.
I& I just&
You read much, Jim?
Not really. Not many books on the ranch.
And more s the pity. You strike me as a man trying to come to terms with something. Ain t a
thing wrong that. And not with whatever those terms are. I ll tell you something I read when I was about
your age and took me a long time to appreciate.
This above all: to thine own self be true.
What s that supposed to mean? Jimmy asked.
You figure out what you want and you figure out what you re willing to do to get it, then you
buckle down and work. Maybe it s a pretty girl and a yard full of kids. Maybe it s a decade of ridin bulls
and ropin calves. Maybe it s just a lifetime of fresh air and wild animals.
I reckon.
Don t listen to me then. Oh, we brought on a new hand today. Young feller, about your age.
When you get back down the bunkhouse, you ought to say hello. Make him feel welcome.
Uh, thanks. I guess I will.
Darren lay back on his sleeping. He slid down into the pouch until his body was nothing but a
formless lump. Good night, lad.
It didn t seem to take a minute before he was snoring like a chainsaw. Jimmy shook his head. He
wasn t sure what to make of the older cowboy. He stared up at the stars overhead and tried to relax. It
didn t take long for him to nod off, even with Darren s snoring.
***
Warm light spilled from the ranch house. A tendril of smoke rose from the chimney. Jimmy s
stomach churned when the smell of cooking meat reached his nose. He wanted nothing more than to
grab a plate of grub, take a shower and fall into the sack, but the horse needed attention first.
A half hour later, he finally stumbled into the house.
Jimmy! Welcome back, Darren called from the dining room. Get some chili.
Jimmy waved hello and trudged to the kitchen to get his food. When he reached the table, there
were only a handful of cowboys still eating. Darren was there, and Shane, and younger, thinner drink of
water he didn t recognize.
Austin, this here is Jim, Darren said. He s been up working the high meadows where we keep
the llamas and alpacas.
Pleased to meet you, Austin said. He held out a too smooth hand.
Jimmy shook his hand. Welcome to the ranch. You can call me Jimmy.
Shane snorted. You kids have a good night. He took his empty bowl and stomped off to the
kitchen.
Don t pay him no mind, Darren said.
Huh, wonder what s got his goat? Jimmy picked at his chili and listened to Darren s retelling of
their fight with the wolves the previous night.
Jimmy here outright killed a wolf with nothing but a .22. It would have been a hell of a shot in
daylight. Not sure how he did it in the dark.
Got lucky, I guess, Jimmy said.
Nothing wrong with getting lucky, Darren said.
Jimmy looked at him, again unsure if it was a double entendre. The wry smile on the other
cowboy s face was unreadable.
Well, I reckon I ought to get to the poker game before they decide they don t want me takin all
their money. You pups take care. Darren took his dishes and wandered off.
How long have you been on the ranch? Austin asked.
Jimmy looked at him. Really looked at him. Tried to see past the lankiness, the mop of blonde
hair, the too soft hands. If Austin was really a cowboy, Jimmy was a pile of Alpaca shit. What s a city boy
doing out here?
About two years.
They still treat you like that after two years?
Who? Shane? That s just his way. He s always been a hardcase.
Oh. Did the wolves scare you?
Not too much, to be honest. I was up on a rock. I had my .22 and .45, and I knew Darren had
my back. Some folk have been out here longer, but nobody knows their business like Darren.
Yeah, I get that impression. It s like he s always got something to prove.
Jimmy considered that. Two years of working with Darren and he d never thought of it quite like
that. He just took it for granted that Darren worked hard, but what was it Darren had said last night?
Figure out what you want and what you re willing to do to get it? Something like that. Whatever it was
Darren wanted, apparently it involved busting his ass harder than anyone else on the ranch.
I reckon you might be right.
Well, it s been good talking to you, but I m going to turn in, Austin said.
Take care then. Jimmy turned his attention to his chili. It didn t take long to finish it off and
wipe the bowl with a hunk of bread. He pushed away from the table and nearly fell when he stood up.
The alpaca that was due to give birth had taken care of her business, but she d taken the whole morning
and then he d spent the afternoon checking the woods for signs of the wolves. It didn t hardly leave a
body time for a nap, and he hadn t slept too much after he d nodded off the previous night. Turning in
sounded like a fine idea.
He was halfway down the hallway to his room when he heard his name called from behind. He
turned around and saw Darren, that damnable grin on his face.
You got a second to chat? Darren asked.
I reckon. Jimmy sighed. I thought you were playing poker.
I was. I told them I d rebuy in a few minutes. Threw em my money to warm em up. Makes em
feel better when I win it all back later.
Jimmy followed the older man out to the porch. They both leaned against the rail and looked off
over the moonlit ranch. Stars twinkled above the vast pastures.
He don t belong here, you know, Jimmy said.
I know.
So why s he here?
His daddy knows Earl. Earl called me up and said to take him in, let him work for a month or
two and when he chickens out and decides to go home, to tell him he s done a good job. He also said to
make sure he didn t break no limbs or get bit by a rattlesnake.
Jimmy snorted. That sounded like Earl, alright. How you figure you re going to do that?
I ain t. You are. You been here two years. You know all you need to know. He s your new
apprentice.
Why?
Cause Randy won t have him on account of him being, well& you know. Shane s an asshole and
won t do anything but break him down and try to drive him off. I m too busy trying to keep this whole
operation going. That leaves you, stud.
Too busy, huh?
Too busy working, too busy keeping a reputation I ve busted my ass to earn. I don t need a wet
behind the ears summer intern in here giving me the googly eyes. He looked pointedly at Jimmy. I get
enough of that already.
Jimmy swallowed hard, glanced away. What do you need me to do?
Show him the barns. Teach him how to saddle a horse. Explain the steers. Take him on a
goddamn camping trip, I don t care. Just keep him away from the boys and don t let him shoot himself.
What kind of work do you need me to get done while I m doing all that?
Take a day and show him the ropes. Then I m sending you back up the meadow for a night or
two to get him out of sight. I ll figure something out after that.
Earl going to be mad when he bails out in two weeks?
As long as he doesn t going crying to his daddy about how mistreated he was and how his
rights got all violated, I don t think Earl will care.
Jimmy stifled a yawn. Got it. Can I get some sack time now?
Yep.
***
Jimmy followed along behind Austin s horse. The city boy sat in the saddle okay, but he was
going to be sore by the time they reached the high meadow, that was for sure. Jimmy s .22 hung from
the other cowboy s saddle and a big pannier of food stretched across the horse s haunches.
You said about three hours? Austin asked. How far is that in actual miles?
Oh, about 10 or 12, I think.
So why not just ride a four wheeler?
It s a narrow trail from this side of the mountain. To get a four wheeler up, you d have to circle
around to the way we move the herds. Takes all day if you do that.
Huh. I didn t realize you all even rode horses anymore. I thought it was all ATVs and
helicopters.
Jimmy laughed. I wish we had a helicopter. That d be fun.
Earl has one.
Is that right? He don t fly it around here then.
Oh.
It s not what you expected, I take it? The ranch, I mean.
No.
Jimmy waited for him to elaborate, but that seemed to be that. We ought canter the horses a
bit before we hit the slope. He flicked his reins. G yup. His horse picked up the pace, and as he passed
Austin, he saw the other cowboy flick the reins like Jimmy had taught him.
They rode on a while, serenaded by the wind in their ears and the clatter of horseshoes on the
stony ground. The ground started to rise and soon they were at a pile of boulders with a winding
passage between them.
This is the trail, Jimmy said. Just let Maggie there do her thing. She knows the way.
No pressure on the reins, but don t let them go?
That s right.
As the horses worked their way up the side of the mountain, Austin spoke up again. So why do
you have alpacas and llamas? They can t be worth half as much as the steers.
I think half would be generous. We shear em once a year, and send the fiber off to some
factory of Earl s. I think they re his pet project.
Sounds like Earl.
They rode on in silence a while. We re nearly there, Jimmy said. We need to have a look to
see if the wolves have come back, then we need to move the herds to a new pasture. Shouldn t be much
trouble.
Okay.
When they crested the trail and left the trees, the morning sun shone down on the rock
formation, lighting it up like Mount Olympus. The mountains rose on one side and a green valley was
visible on the other. Austin gaped at the view. Jimmy just smiled. The high country was gorgeous,
especially the first time you saw it. Jimmy took his field glasses from the case on his saddle and scanned
the tree lines and the valley for any sign of wolves. If they were there, they were hidden. The fact that
there weren t any alpaca or llama corpses made him think they were long gone.
***
Steak sizzled above the fire. Occasionally, little drips of fat dropped into the flames and sent
geysers of fire shooting up. The smell of the cooking meat made Jimmy s mouth water nearly as much as
the sight of Austin s blonde curls.
Austin shivered and pulled his jacket tighter around his shoulders. How cold does it get up here
at night?
This time of year, it might get down to the mid 30s. Tonight will probably be more like 40.
Jimmy moved the steaks off the flame and wrapped them in foil.
Austin shook his head. I can t believe they make you stay out here.
It s not so bad. It s a lot colder in winter, plus the sleeping bag will keep you nice and snug. The
hard part is getting up in the morning.
I ve never had a problem getting up. The city boy grinned. How about you, cowboy?
Would Darren be mad if& Jimmy snorted. I don t reckon so.
Austin scooted around the fire until he sat beside Jimmy. They were so close their elbows were
nearly touching. Austin set his hand on Jimmy s knee and stroked his fingertips along Jimmy s thigh. He
leaned over, pointedly looking at Jimmy s crotch.
It doesn t look like it.
Jimmy s heart pounded. He had waited so long, he was hardly sure what to do when the
opportunity dropped itself quite literally in his lap. His body responded, even while his mind groped for a
plan of action. His arm slipped around Austin s shoulders and pulled him close. Austin came willingly, his
head turning up to look Jimmy in the face.
He has a smile like an angel. Jimmy tucked a hand behind the blond curls. His head lowered. The
instant their mouths touched, it was like a thunderbolt. Lip to tender lip, tongue to greedy tongue.
Clothes fell by the wayside until they were tangled in a mass of bare arms and hairy legs. Austin
squirmed onto Jimmy s lap, straddling the cowboy. Jimmy slid a hand down Austin s back, feeling the
smooth skin. His hand cupped a pale ass cheek and squeezed. When Austin grasped his cock, Jimmy held
his breath.
You can breathe, cowboy. I m going to make you feel like you haven t ever felt before.
Jimmy exhaled. His manhood quivered. His balls ached. He wanted to come. He needed to
come. He pulled Austin s mouth back to his own and sucked hard, hungrily. The stroke on his cock felt
like heaven. His body hummed.
Let s move to my sleeping bag, Austin whispered. I have a surprise.
Okay. Jimmy felt out of breath, far more than the thin air could cause. He let Austin take his
hand and lead him the few feet to the unrolled bag. Austin slid a hand inside the top of the bag and
came out with a bottle of lube.
Good for massages, and& other things. Lay down on your stomach.
I haven t ever bottomed before, Jimmy said.
Don t worry. I ll be as gentle as a lamb. You can take a turn on top later if you want.
Jimmy nodded. Don t hurt me, stud. He felt Austin crouch over him, knees on either side of his
hips. You going to put it in me or& Oh! The lube drizzled on his shoulders and it was cold.
Austin s hands were strong and sure. His fingers kneaded muscles Jimmy didn t even know he
had. The lube let him slide across the shoulders, up the neck and down the back. After what felt like a
lifetime, Jimmy s cock was harder than ever, but his back felt like dough.
When Austin s hand slid down his back and started to rub his ass, Jimmy couldn t help but smile.
Finally. Austin massaged the thick muscles of his glutes, then slid a finger between his cheeks. The lube
made it slick and easy, and it wasn t a surprise when the tip flitted over his tight hole.
You like that, don t you? Austin said. I know you do. He pressed a finger against the muscle.
Jimmy took a deep breath, forcing himself to relax. He tried to remember what he d learned
from his bottoms in his precious few encounters in high school. He felt Austin s finger slide through the
ring. Oh! he groaned. Ripples of pleasure he hardly recognized arced through him. The finger slid
deeper and then& he wasn t sure what happened, but his whole body shuddered with ecstasy.
I think I found your spot, Austin said. He slid another finger inside. The two fingers stroked
deeper and deeper, his knuckles working against the sensitive nerves around Jimmy s ring. I think
you re ready for the real thing.
The fingers slid free. Something bigger, thicker prodded his hole. I m ready, Jimmy said. Austin
gripped his hip and pushed. And he was inside. Oh God, yes, Jimmy groaned.
This is going to feel so good, Austin said.
Austin s hips pressed into his ass. The other man s knees pushed his legs wider. Each thrust slid
that meaty rod of pleasure up against his spot, driving him wild. Jimmy squeezed the sleeping bag in his
fists. His stomach quivered. He could feel his cock sliding over the silky material of the bag each time he
pushed his hips back into Austin s rod.
You like taking it, don t you cowboy? Austin s voice wavered with his panting.
Fucking give it to me!
The only thing that matted was Austin s crown rubbing against his gland. That hard dick trying to
milk him from the inside. That meaty rod trying to change his world.
It was working, too. That was the glorious thing. He could feel that sunrise of an orgasm. It was
there below the horizon, below the pinkening skies.
Oh& Oh. Oh! Jimmy groaned. The sun peaked over the mountains. His world went white. Hot
jets of cum exploded out of him. Pearly strings of goo spattered the sleeping bag.
Oh yes, you naughty bitch! Austin screamed. Take that. He rammed his cock into Jimmy s
ass. And that! He slammed it home again. Yesss!
It felt like Austin s cock was pushing all the way to his stomach, but he was so horny and so
lubed, it felt good. He couldn t feel the cum, but Austin s cock was so hard, he knew what must have
happened.
Austin collapsed on top of him, his chest pressed against Jimmy s back, his dick still buried in
Jimmy s ass. That was pretty incredible, cowboy, Austin said.
Uh huh.
Do you want to ride me? Did you come?
I m good. I just had the best orgasm of my life.
Austin giggled. It was my pleasure. Tell you what, how about we clean up a little and we
snuggle in your sleeping bag. I think it s going to be a little less messy.
Deal.
***
Jimmy added another piece of wood to the fire. He poked at the coals to stoke up the flames a
little more. His breath puffed out in a cloud as he worked. Once the fire was arranged, he sat back on his
log and relaxed. The sun was just about to come up over the plains. The clouds above the horizon
glowed pink and orange, messengers of what was sure to be another gorgeous day.
He glanced over at Austin, still asleep in the sleeping bag. It reminded him how sore his ass was.
He adjusted himself on the log. It was worth it. It was absolutely worth it. It probably wasn t love. It
couldn t be love. He didn t think it could be, not that soon. Lust maybe, but not love. It didn t matter.
The sex was good. No, the sex was great. And when Austin woke up, they could do it all over again. Two
or three times, if they wanted.
The alpacas wouldn t mind.
The End

The following are other stories you may enjoy.
Rodeo Threeway - MMF Menage (Rodeo Tales Book 1)
Cowboys love rope. Darren twirled his favorite rope as he walked from the arena back to his
trailer. The knot slid easily over the twisted black strands. The noose opened and closed with a bare flick
of the wrist. Fond memories of the rodeo flooded through him and mixed with regret. The rodeo may
have beat him up and spit him out, but he was still going to miss.
His mind wandered to John. John the champion. John the God that had seemed to sit on a high
pedestal. John the worst role model imaginable, but only once you got to know him. Thoughts of
wrapping that thick black rope around John s feet and riding him like the stud he was flickered across his
mind. Darren sighed and let the lasso fall to the pavement. He adjusted his oversized buckle so his
drawers wouldn t pinch. Thoughts like that were no good. Not anymore. Tomorrow was a new day, the
first day of a new beginning.
Darren frowned when he reached his little travel trailer. The weather door was open and the
screen door was unlatched. He gripped the rope tighter in his meaty fist. If someone was still in there,
they were going to be in for a hell of a surprise. Years roping calves and riding bulls hadn t made him big
or intimidating, but it had made him tougher than nails.
The door squeaked as he tried to ease it open. He winced and stepped into the little trailer. The
intruder was there all right. John lay sprawled on the rumpled bed wearing nothing but a pair of briefs
and a single sock. The smell of whiskey permeated the air. Darren spotted the empty bottle on the floor.
He was some kind of role model, alright.
You drunk bastard, he grumbled. He wanted to be angry. He wanted to be surprised. Instead
he was depressed. John was just being John. He set the lasso on the counter and studied his intruder.
He stared longingly at the hard curve in the back of John s briefs. The dimple on the side cried
out to be held. He imagined sidling up behind the other man and sliding those briefs down. The heels of
his hands would fit perfectly in that dimple. His fingers would wrap around the other cowboy s hips, and
he would ride, ride, ride. Darren closed his eyes and imagined what that ride would be like. John would
love it, too. He d be sure of that. Maybe when John discovered what a gentle and talented lover he

No. Darren opened his eyes. Two years without making and he was going to face rejection now?
There would willing pieces of ass once got to Austin. He tapped the other cowboy on the shoulder. Hey
John, wake up, buddy.
John didn t stir, other than the steady rise and fall of his back.
Darren shook the other man s shoulder. John, wake up. You need to get home. Lou-Ellen s
gonna be pissed.
John groaned and allowed himself to be rolled to his back. The reek of the whiskey grew nearly
unbearable. The man had breath like a skunk s asshole. Darren stepped back and wrinkled his nose. His
eyes tracked over John s scarred chest and settled at his crotch. The crown of John s prick poked over
the band of his briefs. It was full and hard. The creamy skin even glistened.
Darren moaned involuntarily. Why does the world hate me? He tugged at his jeans again to
rearrange his swollen cock.
He pushed his fingers through his hair. John s cock glared at him. That hint of shine on the tip. It
was like it was crying. Like it was lonely and wanted attention.
He bit his lip and looked out the door of the trailer. An empty cup bounced along the pavement,
carried by the evening breeze. Not a soul was in sight. I ll be gone tomorrow. Probably won t ever see
these people again. He checked the latch on the screen door, and closed the weather door.

Milking the Bull: MM
The barn was bigger than the house and circled on three sides by a split rail fence. The red paint
was fading and the whole yard smelled of cow shit.
The new girlfriend, it was going to take him a while to get used to the idea of his dad dating,
pulled on an oversized door. A cat scampered away as the door creaked open.
Claude? Are you in here?
I m in the back, Ma, came the response.
Ethan peered at the dim interior, but couldn t see anyone. Hay bales and stalls full of cows filled
the barn.
Watch your step in here, Missy told him.
Ethan followed her through the barn and his dad followed behind him. They reached the back
stall and Ethan stopped. His mouth dropped open. A broad shouldered, curly headed piece of hot man
flesh stood in front of the bull. One hand gripped a gray box and the other gripped the tail end of a giant
dildo. The other end of the dildo was firmly jammed into the bull s asshole.
His dad laughed at him and clapped him on the shoulder. I was wondering how you d react.
I& Uh&
Claude turned around. Ethan got his first look at his roommate for the next two weeks. His
unbelievably gorgeous roommate and his face that looked like it was carved out of wood then coated
and oiled to a shine. He had piercing blue eyes and for a moment Ethan couldn t comprehend how
someone so perfect was here, on this farm, fucking a bull in the ass.
Ethan s cock grew erect in his pants. It grew painfully hard and pushed at the fly, but there was
no way he could adjust it.
Howdy, Ethan. I d shake your hand but I m covered in bull shit, Claude said.
Ethan nodded dumbly. What are you doing?
I m milking this here bull. He winked. We take semen samples and sell them to a lab.
That s not really a giant vibrator, Missy said. It s an electro-ejaculator. It stimulates the bull
until he squirts into a cup.
How often do you milk him? Ethan asked.
About once a month or so, Claude responded. We have half a dozen bulls and usually take
the samples all in the same day.
Is this the last one tonight? Missy asked.
Still got Wild Bill left. I should be done in forty-five minutes or so, Claude said.
Well, you boys can stay out here and chat, but I m going to go in and wash up for bed. She
looked at Ethan s dad. You coming?
I hope to shortly. The older man grinned.
Ethan bit his lip but didn t respond. Claude didn t seem to catch the pun. Or he ignored it. Ethan
couldn t tell which.
I need to get my bags out of the car, Ethan said. He looked at Claude. Good luck.
Claude shrugged and Ethan followed his dad and his dad s girlfriend back out of the barn.
