to work progressivelv frorn the changes on three beils to those upon a greater number ; and I would very strongly assure thcrn that the morę they know about pricldng changes, and the morę exactly they endeavour to follow my instruclions by observing how they apply to such written figures, the sooner will they gain the power of observing the actua! positions of the rising or falling ropes,
Hunting course on three. helis.—Having rung rounds until the striking is satisfactory, somcone, at the hand-stroke of the treble calis “ go next,” or sonie such words, to signify that the next time the be lis come to be puHed off at the hand-stroke changes will be commenced ; and to further ensure this, when the belis come to the hand-stroke, the same ringer will ery v< here,” Now the learner’s troubles begin. Suppose him to be ringing the treble of the three beils :—From his acquaintance with the changes on paper, he will have observed that at the first change the treble goes up into second's place, or, as it is calied, com-mences to “ bunt up behind.” Now there is one generał rule for hunting “ up” on any number of helis, which may at once be recognised and learnt by referring to any of the changes already pricked out.
