Nuclear Resonance Signals in Flowing Liquid

The investigation of nuclear resonance signals has encountcred spccific difficulties in the case of long relax.ation times. Already at medium rela-xation times wiggles occur which cause the deformation of the signal. Wiggles, ho\vever, do not constitute an essential obstacle; they can be used for analysis of the signal, and even for a very accurate determination of such quantities as total relaxat.ion time 1], or both relaxation times

For medium relaxation times, curves such as in Fig. 1 are readily obtained, these curves being suitable for quantitative analysis. The analysis, however, of the signal obsenred on the oscillograph becomes very difficult in the case of long relaxation times. If the total relaxation time T, defined as 1/T= 1/T_Ł + yr, where y is the gyTomagnetic ratio and T the half-width of the linę, becomes equal or longer than the sweep period, then the wiggles do not die down during one sweep period and the
