SG-2020 HF radio installations
A few photos showing a couple of palnes I flew solo across the Pacific. Posted these to show
the great little radio (SG-2020) and antenna installations I used on these flights.
Piper 6X in Oakland before flight to
Honolulu
Used storm window latch hole to bring
antenna through window.
Then out to wing tip. Simple safety wire
antenna.

Antenna terminates at tail. Length is about
30 feet.
SG-2020 in Piper 6X. On left is converter
for 24 to 12 volts.
6X tanks. Had about 20 hours fuel for 16
hour flight.

C-182 I delivered to New Zealand
SG-2020 in C-182 tanked for Auckland
New Zealand. 20 hours fuel.
SG-2020 in C-182. Not much room for 16
hour flight.
C-182 refueling on Christmas Island. Fuel
was $12/gal.

This one also went to NZ from US.
SG-2020 ADSP2 and SG-211 tuner next to
padded 6 pack cooler I to use carry them.
Radio and tuner inside padded 6 pack
carrying case. Nice small package.
My ferry flight install kit, minus the safety
wire antenna spool.
