ADDENDUM TO THE
TPD32-HGB INSTRUCTION MANUAL (REV. 05/99)
1. GENERAL
This TPD32 converter is UL listed, in order to be sold or installed on the American market.
On such a market the rated current of a converter is usually defined as the base current of a cycle having 150% overload for
60 seconds every 600 seconds, whereas in Europe the rated current is defined as the maximum continuous output current of
the converter. For this reason the TPD32 UL listed series rating differs to the equivalent european equipment one.
The table below shows the cross reference between the UL listed TPD32 and the standard TPD32 sizes. When using the
attached instruction manual, always refer to this table when the converter size is mentioned.
In the following Errata/Corrige the amendments to be done on the TPD32 manual, relative to specification and features of
TPD32 related to the UL listing, are described.

For sizes up to 56A any UL listed lug, sized for the indicated bolt and AWG cable, is suitable for this use, otherwise a
compression lug type from ILSCO manufacturer is specified.

In the table above 2X... means that two compression lugs of the specified type have to be used on the opposite side of the
busbar. 4X... means that four compression lugs of the specified type have to be used on the same busbar, two for each side
and one for each bolt hole.
Bolt, nuts and washers are factory mounted on output busbars. The required ILSCO compression tool is marked on each
terminal plug.
For sizes above 112A the front terminal cover has to be removed when using the above listed lugs.

When connecting the converter a 9,5mm (3/8 in.) spacing between uninsulated live parts of opposite polarity
should be mantained.
