Subject:  Traction Cut-out Against Braking Function of the Traction Circuit
Models Affected: J1.50-1.75DX, J1.50-1.75HDX (A225)
J2.00-2.50DX, J2.00-2.50HDX (A226)
General:
The  traction cut-out against braking function to the traction circuit has been added to
prevent stalling of the traction motor during the simultaneous operation of the accelerator
pedal and the brake pedal which could cause premature wear of brushes/commutator and
burning of the traction motor windings. This simultaneous operation of accelerator pedal and
brake pedal most often will occur to customers who have replaced I.C.E. trucks with Electric
Rider trucks.
Description:
1). Changed parts are as follows:
Hyster Unit Code: A225
N Wire Harness Body: 2027619 was 2314202
N Relay: One (1) off 2314012 was added.
Hyster Unit Code: A226
N Wire Harness Body: 2027620 was 2314203
N Relay: One (1) off 2314012 was added.
2). Option setting of the controller is changed as follows along with the part change.
Refer to page 12 and 19 of the  Trouble Shooting Manual for the  OPTION SETTING .
 OPTION 0001 0000 was  OPTION 0000 0000
3). Add the following instructions to page 13 of the  Trouble Shooting Manual for Current
Limit measurement.
*Between item 3-2 and 3-3:
Change the  OPTION SETTING from  OPTION 0001 0000 to  OPTION 0000
0000 for  Traction cut-out disable.
*After item 3-5:
Change the  OPTION SETTING from  OPTION 0000 0000 to  OPTION 0001
0000 for  Traction cut-out able.

1) Action for field unit modification
Required parts and instructions for adding  traction cut-out against braking function have
been established as kits below for the field units shipped before the change.

Please refer to the  instruction drawing included in the kit to install the  interlock kit .
Description
2). Use new parts in   on page 1 of 2 for servicing all units regardless if
produced before or after the change, or for field modified trucks.

1). Parts availability for the field units.
The above Interlock kits were to be sent to the field by the middle of December from SN.
2) SN shipping units.
