Next Generation CompactLogix

All CompactLogix Controllers ship

without firmware at initial release

An “out-of-the-box” Controller’s RS-232, Ethernet, or

ControlNet ports will still be supported via RSLinx

The user can flash an “out-of-the-box” Controller

using Controlflash software and RSLinx

The user can flash an “out-of-the-box” Controller

using a CompactFlash card that was previously

loaded with a v12 program via RSLogix v12.

Note: the Controller program/firmware can only be

loaded on CompactFlash via a Controller. The

program must be compiled and downloaded to the

Controller’s RAM then transferred from RAM to

CompactFlash.
