DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICE (TECHNIQUE / SKILL)

6 v 6 plus goalkeepers

Coach the Screen player to be in a position to intercept the ball.

ORGANISATION

60 x 40m pitch

6 v 6 plus goalkeepers

3 zones and the formation is 2-(1-2)-1

Keeper can only play into the defensive - zone

Still look for over- load when the ball has been played into that zone

With the holding midfielder - look at attacking & defensive role

Create space to threaten the back of the defenders but not to go off-side

KEY FACTORS: For Screen Players

One Screen

Defensively Role - protect the back players

Attack Role - give support from behind and look to play forward when on

NOTES

Screen player - Attacking - Create space, support behind the ball, use the correct angle and distance, play forward if at all possible

Defending - prevent the ball from getting into the strikers, protect the back 4, and defend the space in front of the defenders, cut off the channel to the front player.

Progress form one screen to double screens.

Work as a single pair

Same as a single screen.
