Fractions Shapes Connect 4

TEACHERS NOTES

MATERIALS

• Base board (set of 16 fraction shapes)
  NOTE
  There are two versions of the base board included - one in colour, the other black and white for photocopying - you need to choose ONE of them!

• Set of fraction word cards - photocopy two sets in two different colours

• Worksheet

NB enlarge and photocopy on to A3 card if possible.

RULES

For two learners or (better) two teams of two learners.

• Each team has a different coloured set of the fraction word cards.

• The teams take it in turn to lay a card on the base board on an appropriate number or fraction shape.

• The first team to lay down a line of four cards is the winner.

• If there is no winner, count up the number of lines of three cards; the team with the highest number is the winner.

(NB it is possible to block the other team!!)
