Reading
Police officers in Sussex, in the south of England, stopped a motorist. The driver was not speeding, or driving dangerously. The police were checking all cars for safety - looking at the tyres, looking for signs of damage and so on. The driver of this particular car was behaving strangely, pulling his hat over his eyes, not looking at the officers. It was as if he didn't want his face to be seen. One of the officers asked him his name. The driver replied straight away “Turner.” “What's your first name, Mr Turner?” said the officer. The driver hesitated before saying, “Peter.” The police checked his name on their computer, but the only thing that came up was that a Paul Turner was wanted for a robbery that had taken place a few months previously. The police were just about to let him go, when they noticed the tattoo on his hand. It was just four letters. P.A.U.L. |
