ARE YOU OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE POLAND ECONOMY
I must be an optimist.
When the socialism fell down in Poland about twelve years ago Poland began to change. Poland regained a real independence and the new government started a new period in Polish economy. Poland began efforts to join the European Union. The Polish army has been in NATO since 1999.
There are a lot of problems. We must change Polish low, because it has to be similar to European Union's low. Our industry is old and energy-consuming.
We have lost our traditional market in the East Europe and especially in Russia.
We have a high unemployment. Officially there are 2.6 million people who don't have job's but practically about 5 million workers who are unemployed.
The difficult economical situation is very comfortable for various crime' creatures so the crime situation is not good in Poland.
In addition, our government started four big social reforms last year.
There is the reform of education, the reform of health service, the reform of retirement system and the reform of administration. All reforms are very difficult and they need a lot of money but the inflation reaches about ten per cent.
The Polish economy has an influence on the Polish army. The Polish army has been reduced very much ( drastically) for the last twelve years. The Polish army budget is smaller and smaller every year. It has an influence on a condition of the army. It mean its equipment, a level of training and armament.
I'm an (incorrigible) optimist. I think tomorrow will be a better day.
