ON MAC OS X
Install XAMPP for Mac
1.
Launch the server
2.
Use phpMyAdmin to create two databases, one called "wptraining" and one called "wordpress"
3.
Unzip the WordPress archive in your Sites folder (Users/[username]/Sites)
4.
Rename the "wordpress" folder to "wptraining"
5.
Unzip the WordPress archive a second time. You should now have two separate folders containing WordPress files for two installations:
"wptraining" and "wordpress"
6.
Open your browser and launch http://localhost/~[username]/wptraining
7.
Complete the installation process
8.
Now launch the installation process for the second site
9.
Log in to your localhost WordPress admin panel

ON WINDOWS
Install Uniform Server for Windows to C:\
1.
Use Windows Explorer to navigate to C:\UniServer and launch "Start," the left-click the taskbar icon and start the server.
2.
Select "Unblock" in any firewall windows that appear
3.
In the browser window that opens, navigate to phpMyAdmin and create two databases, one called "wptraining" and one called "wordpress"
4.
Copy and paste your WordPress archive to C:\UniServer\www and unzip it
