Materials:
Terry cloth fabric, pieces in blue
and yellow. Elastic, 7 mm (
1
⁄
4
")
wide: 0.30 m (12").
Cutting:
From each fabric, cut 2 rectan-
gular pieces, approx. 2.5 cm (1")
larger than your hot water bot-
tle on all sides.
Sewing:
■ For each layer, lay 2 matching
fabric pieces together, right sides
facing. Round off the lower 2
corners slightly. Stitch together
along side and lower edges, 1 cm
(
3
⁄
8
") from edges. When sewing
inner layer, leave a 1 cm (
3
⁄
8
")
long seam opening on one side,
7 cm (2
3
⁄
4
") from upper edge (for
elastic), and leave an opening,
approx. 8 cm (3
1
⁄
4
") long, in the
center of one long edge for
turning.
■ Pull inner layer over outer
layer, right sides facing. Stitch
upper edges together, 1 cm (
3
⁄
8
")
from edge. Turn right side out
through seam opening. Sew seam
opening closed. Push inner layer
into outer layer. Topstitch 1 cm
(
3
⁄
8
") from upper edge.
■ To form the casing for the
elastic, stitch 6 cm (2
1
⁄
4
") and 7 cm
(2
3
⁄
4
") from upper edge. Pull elas-
tic into casing. Sew ends of elas-
tic together. Finished circumfer-
ence of casing = approx. 25 cm
(10").
