The Problem
I was hired by a local chiropractor's office to fix their online
presence. When I interviewed the owner of the practice, I
learned that he was getting a fair amount of new business from
the Internet, but that he had been sold by another company on
changing his website. Basically, he belonged to a group of doctors
who practiced a certain type of chiropractic medicine, and the
new website just sort of came along with that. Knowing very little
about SEO, he changed websites, changed his domain, etc, and
killed his online presence.
That mistake coupled with the general malaise in the economy had
resulted in his revenues dropping about 30%. Wow! In other
words, he was in dire straits.
After I spoke with him, I started investigating his online
presence.
The first thing I did was figure out what searches he should be
ranking for. His office is in a high-end suburb of Atlanta. And,
most of his business drew from that area. So, he really only
wanted to rank for searches for that particular suburb. The bad
news is that because this is a fairly upper end part of Atlanta,
there are a ton of upscale chiropractor offices all vying for the
same online real estate.

The results of my preliminary investigations were that he had
claimed his Google Places listing, but it was poorly optimized. Not
only that, but a competitor had hired someone to maliciously put a
couple of negative reviews on it.
As a result the GP listing didn't show up on the first page of any
of the searches that he needed to target.
His website was no better.
His website was completely unoptimized for the searches that we
needed him to rank for.
He also had a YouTube channel with only one video on it. That
video had about 20 views, and showed up nowhere for any search.
My Plan
The good news was that he still owned the domain name that he
used to us. So, he had an older domain name.
I proposed the following to him.
1. Have a new WordPress site built, and link that with his old
domain name. Forward the new, current domain name to the
old one. This made sense, because the old name was much

more keyword rich than the new one.
2. Fix his Google Places listing.
3. Teach him how to solicit good reviews from his satisfied
patients.
4. Expand his YouTube channel with more videos, which we would
use for backlinking and ranking.
The Execution of the Plan
Before I actually did anything I went to Google's Keyword Tool
and found the top four searches for the area + business.
I ranked these by order of exact searches and chose my main
keyword phrase.
Website
I already had the theme I wanted to use.
The company had some pictures, etc. And, they had a logo.
I contacted my graphics guy, sent him the logo and asked him to
make a header for me.
I copied the text off of the old site and bought a couple of fiverr

gigs to have it rewritten.
I had my client open a HostGator business account.
I needed copy for the pages I was going to optimize for the
keyword searches.
I went to Ezine articles and a couple of other article sites, and
copied a few articles.
I bought another fiverr gig and sent the writer the copy I found
to use as inspiration.
When I got all this back, I hired yet another person to put this all
together for me on my HostGator reseller account. The client
took a look at it, approved it, and then I hired someone else to
move the site for me to my client's HostGator account.
Lastly, we redirected the new domain to the old one that we
decided to use for the new site.
SEO
Once the website got up. I took all the pages and popped them
into my OnlyWire account. I waited about a week while Google got
the old and new domain names sorted out.

I bought a open link wheel gig for each of my pages that I wanted
to rank.
That's all the SEO I've done to date.
I did get a press release written, and I've paid for a distribution,
but that hasn't been delivered yet.
Google Places
I reworked the client's GP listing. I changed the description
around. Uploaded more pictures to the account (the file name of
each pic was one of my search phrases).
The client supplied me with 4 videos. He already had one uploaded
to the account.
I put the 4 videos on YouTube, then linked those up in the GP
listing.
The client and I decided to create an Offer on their GP listing.
Did that, and took the graphic from that, put it on their website
and linked that back to their GP maps page.
I bought 35 citations on other business directories.
Once those citations came in, I bought a few gigs on fiverr to get
Copyright © 2012, Lee Cole, All Rights Reserved
someone to leave a review on the top ten of these.
I then pinged each citation.
The most important thing I did was get my client to ask his
patients to leave reviews on his GP listing. I even created a QR
code that linked to his GP maps page where they could do that on
their phones from the office, right at check out.
YouTube Videos
As mentioned above the client created 4 videos to put on
YouTube. He gave those to me on a flash drive.
I took them and renamed each file with one of my keyword
phrases.
Then I uploaded them to the client's YouTube account.
Each description was the same. I took the copy I had hired out
and just changed it for each keyword phrase that I wanted to
rank for. So the description went...full URL, name address etc just
like in a citation, keyword phrase, copy, keyword phrase.
Once I uploaded each video, I popped the URL in Onlywire.

I bought 300 views for each video. I spread these out about 2
days from each other.
Everything was going great. Except the videos! The videos ranked
at the top of the Google search when you clicked on Videos on the
left hand side of the Google page, but they wouldn't show up on
the main search page.
I then bought a WSO about how to change the transcription of
the video. I did that and the videos started to show up on the
main search.
As of right now, all are on pages 2 4 for the Everything search.
My next move is to buy gigs to blast each one with some links.
We'll see what that does.
Results
My client now has something on page 1 for each of his searches
that we targeted.
As a continuing goal, I'm going to get his GP listing, his website,
and at least 1 video all on page 1. Then if he wants to expand this
program, we can create more pages on his site, and move towards
dominating new searches with at least his site and 1 video.

I've also backlinked his YouTube channel to increase it's PR over
time.
All in all, I'm very happy! He's already started to get new business
from this!
That's what I'm here for...to help others make money and to be
very well paid for that skill.
