Pure Developer Guide
When you enter the World Tour for the first time you will have to build an ATV. You have three choices at this point. You
can build a Race bike, build a Freestyle bike or let the game build one for you. We suggest at this point that you put the
time in and build a quality Race bike to start with. The first tour only has racing event types in it so make the fastest bike
you can right now. This will limit your trick ability slightly, but seeing as it’s the first tour, the AI won’t be firing on all
cylinders just yet. Here are some suggestions on the parts to fit for your Race bike.

Progressing through World Tour
To start with you’ll only be able to enter the MAXXIS tour. You’ll notice that in the bottom right portion of the screen
it will tell you how many points you will need to progress to the next tour. These points can be amassed from any of
the four events in the tour, so don’t think you have to come first each time. You get 16 points for placing 1st and
then this decreases by a point for each position you come afterwards.
The first tour requires only 28 points to progress. You should be able to do this without having to enter each event
as there are a total of 64 points on offer. Whatever your finishing position you’ll earn points so try the next event if
you get stuck rather than keep going for the win. As you progress, however, the criteria for unlocking tours will
toughen up, so you will have to get more and more wins as you go.
Once you get to 30 points, you will have unlocked your first lot of performance upgrades. You only get to choose
one of the three parts on offer here so we suggest that you go for the shocks upgrade at this point. This will really
raise your stats and give you improved handling. Make sure you go to the garage and fit this part now. You need to
actually go and select your shocks before the upgrade will appear though. Now select the green upgrade icon to fit
it to your ATV.

Once you have unlocked the next tour you should build yourself a Freestyle bike. The game will let you enter a Freestyle
event with the same bike you used in the previous races, but to do well you really need to build a bike for each event
type.
Here are our suggestions for a good Freestyle bike with the current parts available.
The second tour
Choose the second Frame in the list and then add these
parts.
ARS FX Swingarm
Walsh Racecraft A-ARms
PEP Freestyle Shocks
ITP wheels SS112 Sport
ITP Quadcross tyres
DASA Racing 449cc 4 Stroke engine
TAG Metals Handlebars
Renthal Sprockets Kits
Galfer Brakes
Otto Kick Boost system
After this, fit the body parts to suit your taste

How to win at Freestyle
When you enter your first Freestyle event, make sure you watch the tutorial video that gets played. You can skip it,
but Freestyle makes up a 3rd of the game modes so you really need to know how to get the best out of it.
The single best piece of advice on offer here is link your tricks. Every time you pull a trick you will see a red counter
appear in the centre of the screen. This will have the number of tricks you have pulled next to it. If you pull another
trick before the timer runs out you will link your tricks together and the score will be multiplied by the amount of
tricks you managed to link.
You can make your score even bigger by using the pickups mapped around the tracks. Especially look out for the
x2 pickups that will double the score of your trick total. It is possible on some tracks to link over 16 tricks together. If
you can start doing this and pick up the x2 multiplier you'll soon be ranking high on the world leaderboards.

One last piece of advice - try pulling different tricks each time. You'll earn more boost and more Freestyle points if
you keep your tricks fresh. If you keep pulling the same tricks you will score less and less each time. Mix it up and
make sure you link them!
Tips on pulling tricks
When you start a race you will only be able to use the basic tricks. Depending on what platform you are running this
will either be defaulted to '1" (PC) 'A' (360) or 'X' (PS3). When you are in the air you can press the relevant button
and then move the right analog stick (cursors for PC) in any one of eight directions. PC users will press two buttons
at once to gain all the directions on offer - up and left together for example. This will give you all the base tricks on
offer at this point. When you are pulling a trick, however, you can also tweak it. To do this press either of the
bumper buttons (360) shoulder buttons (PS3) or 'Q' and 'A' (PC). This will rapidly build your boost bar up and get
you to the next level of tricks.
As well as tweaking tricks you can combine them with a back/front flip. Again, this will rapidly build up your boost
bar. To do a back flip you preload as normal off of a jump and then quickly (really quickly) double tap back. You
need to hold it in the back position throughout the flip to pull it off. You can flip without the double tap but you will
really notice the difference in speed if you do it right. Front flips are the same but double tapping forward.
Once you are in a flip, make sure you pull a trick and then tweak it. This will give you extra boost and an x3 linker in
Freestyle.

In all the tracks you will find hidden routes that you can jump up to and shave off seconds from your best lap times.
These have been designed to offer risk and reward. Sometimes you'll need to boost and preload at the same time to get
enough height and distance to access the route safely.
You really need to have a good look around when you are in the air so you know where they are ready for your next lap.
We have highlighted a couple of the track's fastest routes below.
Once you max out your top level tricks, you'll see the on-screen prompt telling you that you can use the special
tricks. These are the more spectacular, fictional tricks in PURE. They take longer than the other tricks to pull, so you
really need to make sure you have enough air to land one safely. If you do land it, your boost bar will be almost fully
charged again. If you can start pulling a few special tricks off in a row you'll be able to keep boosting for extended
periods. Some tracks can almost be boosted the whole way round by pulling off multiple special tricks.

How to win a Race event
Mount Garda routes
The main hidden route in this track is just after the huge jump down towards the water. As you make your way
round the back of the castle ruins you get to take another large jump. At this point, if you look to the left you'll see
there is a broken wall. Just behind this is a shortcut. It’s hard to get right, but when you do you will see your lap
times come down.
TAKE OFF RAMP
Make sure you are over to the left hand side on the approach to this jump. As soon as you take off steer your ATV to the left
and aim to land on the other side of the wall.

LANDING AREA
When you land you can take the track round to the left and drop down just before the broken bridge.
The next shortcut in Mount Garda is a boost-jump route right near the end of the lap.
TAKE OFF RAMP
Use the ruined pillars to the left as a marker to know where this jump is. You'll need to be boosting for the complete run up to
this jump and then preload as quickly as you can. In the air, steer your ATV over to the left.

LANDING AREA
This will give you a nice smooth line to the finish. Make sure you trick while in the air if you have used all your boost so you can
boost again to the finish line.

Timber Falls routes
There are many small shortcuts in Timber Falls but the main one is located just after the sawmill area. As you leave
this built up section you will take a sweeping bend to the left. You then have a long run up to split level jump. This is
where you will find the time saving route.
TAKEOFF RAMP
When you see this split level jump keep over to the left hand side and line yourself up with the larger of the two jumps. Boost
towards this and then when you are in the air steer your ATV to the right.
LANDING AREA
You'll need to be on the brakes when you land as you'll have a 180 turn to right to deal with soon after. Ride under the wooden
bridge and then this will lead you back to the main track again. If you get this section right you should make up a place or two.
This is one of the harder hidden routes to take so you might want to practise it offline before trying it against other players.
