2.13 Some final thoughts on CVs and covering letters
During Week 2, we've looked at different techniques to communicate our experience and achievements to
others in ways that will create a positive and professional impression. By analysing a CV, you've seen how
the different sections can be made to match what a recruiter is likely to be looking for and you've also
learned the importance of writing in a way that sells your experience and emphasises your relevant skills,
experience, and achievements. With help from this course your social media profile should now deliver a
professional image of you, communicating your suitability to potential employers.
You should also now be able to write a covering letter that highlights how you and the opportunity that
you're applying for are a perfect match. But there's one more way that recruiters use to select between
applicants, of course, the application form. So in the final part of this course, we'll discover some of the
different types of questions that appear on forms and how to use some of the techniques that you've
already learned to write a perfect application for the job or course of your dreams.
