Conversation 1
MAN I've heard so much about your mother.
Tell me about her. What's she like?
WOMAN Well, she's quite elderly now.
She's medium-height, with short hair. She's still quite attractive, I think. What else can I say? Oh, well, you can see for yourself in an hour.
MAN I am looking forward to meeting her.
Conversation 2
WOMAN 1 So you've got a new boyfriend, I hear.
WOMAN 2 That's right.
WOMAN 1 What's he like, then.
WOMAN 2 Well, he's middle-aged and rather good-looking.
WOMAN 1 What does he look like?
WOMAN 2 Oh, he's quite tall, with dark hair.
WOMAN 1 And what does he do?
WOMAN 2 He's an accountant.
WOMAN 1 Oh.
Conversation 3
MAN And you say he's going to arrive by plane from Frankfurt.
WOMAN Yes, that's right.
MAN How will I recognise him? What's he like?
WOMAN Well, he's short and he's got dark curly hair.
He's quite well-built.
MAN Anything else?
WOMAN Oh, and he's got a moustache.
MAN I see. How old is he?
WOMAN He's twenty.
MAN I suppose I should write his name on a card and hold it up as the passengers come out of the arrivals lounge.
WOMAN Oh, I'm sure you'll recognise him.
Conversation 4
MAN So, what's the new woman at work like?
WOMAN Oh, she seems very nice. She's quite young. About thirty. She's tall and slim with long fair hair.
And she wears glasses.
MAN She sounds very nice. When do I meet her?
WOMAN Oh, she's not your type, John.
MAN Not my type? Tall? Slim? Long fair hair?
Not my type?
WOMAN No, John.
MAN Why not?
WOMAN Well, have a look in the mirror, John.
MAN Some people think I'm very good-looking.
