Lesson 33 Listening and vocabulary, activity 3
ALANÂ Hi! How's your day been?
BARRYÂ Awful, absolutely awful.
ALANÂ I'm sorry to hear that. What's happened?
BARRYÂ Well, I've hurt my back.
ALANÂ Your back! How did you hurt it?
BARRYÂ I tried to lift a box of books.
ALANÂ A box of books! I'm not surprised you hurt
yourself trying to lift a box of books.
Have you been to the doctor yet?
BARRYÂ No, not yet.
ALANÂ Well, I think you should go immediately.
And what else has happened?
BARRYÂ I've lost my wallet.
ALANÂ Your wallet? Where did you lose it?
BARRYÂ At the bus stop, I think.
ALANÂ Have you been back to the bus stop yet?
BARRYÂ No, I haven't.
ALANÂ And have you heard your exam result?
BARRYÂ Yes, I have.
ALANÂ Have you passed?
BARRYÂ No, I've failed it.
ALANÂ Oh dear, it's been one of those days for you,
hasn't it?
