1 Imagine that together with the students from your partner schools you participate in the project called 'Teenage Lifestyles'. Your English teacher has divided you into groups in which you prepare presentations including information about your hobbies, interests, sports that you do, etc. The authors of the best project will be chosen to visit your partner school abroad. 2 A well-known European organisation is offering students from different countries a great chance to participate in its next international summer camp for free. The only thing you have to do is prepare a project presenting how young people spend holidays in your country, their typical holiday activities, popular destinations, types of accommodation, etc. (Unit 2)
3 An English language school from your town/city wants to attract more young people so it is organising a competition titled 'Looking Back'. They are asking groups of 2-3 students to prepare projects in which they present memories from their childhood, their dreams and ambitions. The winners will study in the school free of charge for six months. (Unit 3)
4 Imagine that you and your classmates are taking part in a competition for young inventors in California. The competition lasts a few days and each day the teams should complete a different task. In one stage of the competition the participants are asked to prepare a project called 'They Made Us Proud' in which they should present famous inventors from their countries and their inventions. 6 Imagine that together with a few friends you are exchange students in an American school. After some complaints from the students on the quality of the food served in the school canteen, the Head of school asks the students to give their opinions on the issue. You decide to prepare a project presenting your views and suggesting some ideas in which the situation can be improved. The winning team will be consulted on the choice of the new lunch menu. 7 The European Youth Parliament has invited young people to take part in the competition titled 'What The Future Holds'. You and your friends decide to prepare a project presenting different predictions of young people from Poland. The winners will get travel scholarships allowing them to visit the European country of their choice for a week. (Unit 7)
8 A well-known European magazine for teenagers is promoting the idea of 'a gap year' during which young people stop going to school for a year and decide to work and get new experience. They ask students from different countries to prepare projects presenting ideas on what kinds of jobs young people can do. The students from the winning team will get a chance to participate in a monthly traning programme in the magazine offices in the European country of their choice. (Unit 8)
9 An English-speaking TV station is preparing the next episode of the TV series 'Generation Gap' and asks viewers to give them some original ideas. The topic of the episode is 'Dating' and together with a few friends you decide to prepare a project showing opinions of different generations connected with this issue. The first prize winners will have a chance to appear in the episode along with the original cast. (Unit 9)
10 Imagine that a magazine for learners of English is organising a competition called 'Mass Media & Us'. Each team should prepare a project showing how teenagers use the Internet, radio, television and press and how useful they are for young people. The best team will win for its school a DVD player together with a series of educational films to be used during English lessons. (Unit 10)
11 Every year your school is visited by more and more exchange students and the Headmaster is thinking of preparing a series of materials on different aspects of life in your country to help them adapt to the new place. He asked your class to prepare a presentation informing foreign students what things are against the law in Poland and advising them how to avoid dangerous everyday situations. (Unit 11)
12 Imagine that there is a competition for the students from partner cities. The title of the competition is 'A Teenage-Friendly City' and the participants are asked to prepare a presentation about the types of entertainment their city has to offer to young people. 13 A popular English sports magazine for young people is preparing an article on how fit students are. They want their readers to prepare group projects about the choice of sports that their schools offer and the students' opinions on what other sports activities should be introduced in their schools. The students who prepare the best project will win € 5,000 for their school to buy the necessary sports equipment. (Unit 13)
14 Imagine that together with a few friends from Poland you are studying English at a summer language school in Oxford. There are representatives of different countries in your group so the teacher asks the course participants to prepare prorepare a project on how students from your school can help save the environment. (Unit 14)
